Humpit - The Hummus & Pita Bar
The food is great. I can only go on a Wednesday when it is only £2.75 for a filled pitta if there are two people sharing the offer. The staff have a habit of not listening to orders fully, but there still learning so you can't get mad.

This is one of the best vegan places in Huddersfield! It's a place I highly recommend you visit! The prices are really good, there is a variety of items you can order and the staff is friendly. There is a friendly atmosphere with music playing in the background too.I came here for lunch and ordered the following items for dine in:Homemade LemonadeSpicy KebabSweet Potato FriesMixed SaladStarting off with the lemonade, after ordering, the lemonade was served after a few minutes. I really liked the lemonade, it was sweet and refreshing.Moving on to the meal itself, the kebab, fries and salad all arrived together after approximately 20 minutes. The kebab was 100% plant based and was full of fresh ingredients. As someone who isn't vegan, the plant based 'meat' was great. It had a good texture and a density similar to chicken. Although it could have been spicier, it was full of flavour and was a good portion size. The spicy kebab cost me £7. (£6 if you were to takeout)The sweet potato fries were good too, the portion size for the price of £1.80, was really good. Although, they were quite soft and I expected them to be a bit crispier. The mixed salad was also a good portion size and also only cost £1.80 (£1.50 for takeout). It was fresh and had a variety of ingredients from chickpeas to chopped tomato and cucumber. Then for takeout I got the lotus rocky road. This was delightful. It only cost me £2 too which I find to be reasonable. The entire meal cost me around £15 which I think is well worth it!Next time I visit I will hopefully try the filled pita!Overall, you should definitely visit this place if you want to try some good quality, flavourful vegan food.

Had a nice Humpit salad. Always good to support a local vegan store. :)

I recently came across this hidden gem of a café. The food is delicious, reasonably priced and although the menu is simple there are lots of variations depending on the type of hummus / sauce you select. The staff were great with my three young children too. Would definitely recommend.

Great food, terrible service. On our first ever visit we ordered about £20 worth of food and one drink to share between us. It was 30c and sunny so I brought my own water bottle. I understand if a restaurant has a policy about no outside drinks that's fine I could have left the bottle behind the counter. However we weren't told until we were sat down until which point we were harassed by a member of staff to the point where we both felt very uncomfortable sat at our table and wanted to leave asap. When we came to pay at the counter the waitress had to continue being argumentative and confrontational about how if everyone brought in their own water bottle they would go out of business. This is a little bit extreme, given that Humpit will serve you tap water for free. I explained several times I just wanted to pay and leave however the staff member wouldn't let it drop and was continuously harassing me making me feel incredibly uncomfortable. There were other customers in the queue behind me waiting to order who I could see were visibly uncomfortable and one person just walked away. She was constantly saying they could go out of business if everyone just drank water, I think their service is far more of an issue than someone wanting to drink tap water on one of the hottest days of the year. The food was good but the service was some of the worst I've ever experienced. Will certainly never return.UPDATE: I thought I would update my review after receiving a response from the owners. The person who was with me walked out of the cafe after the sheer embarassment of being talked down to about drinking tap water. The issue isn't being asked to remove a water bottle, the issue is being hounded and harassed by employees. Clearly that hasn't been understood by the owners. Shocking.
