Its great that the carpark has spaces for coaches and Camper vans and motorhomes as well as cars allowing us to to Enjoy a stay in Carlisle, so well done Carlisle council for doing this. Also car park locked at night, nice touch, handy for Castle and Tullie center as well as town center.

Motorhome parking available. Free at the weekend. Car park locked 8pm to 6.30am. Can stay overnight. 3 of us in last night. Quiet. Trains stop overnight. Good aire. No facilities

Came for the Carlisle Castle on our way south. Just had limited time, so we chose this: the closest and official carpark of the castle.It is pretty big, has lots of bays. Big enough for SUVs as well. And a section for RVs and tourbusses. Fees are reasonable. And there are plenty of spots in the shade (for hot days). Just a quick walk away from the historically important castle.Easy, safe, convenient.

It's a car park that is big and empty. So easy to find a space and easy to get to the castle.The machine we used to get the ticket was a pain because the sun light was so bright you could not read what to do. Great for walks to the town or by the river, following hadrians walk trail.
