The Stanground Academy

This school is absolutely horrendous! They care more about the uniform than giving the students a proper teacher since they have their gcse’s Next year. There are teachers that don’t even no the subject they are teaching! What is this? Some sort of garage sale full of useless trash? Well I can say they are full of it and plenty!

My son made very little progress in English. Maths the teacher admitted one month prior to the GCSE exam he had not been taught the full syllabus. The computer science teacher left as he no longer wanted to work for this Academy, and distributive pupils. This meant year 11 was supply teachers which impacted grades.Avoid !!!

the worst school ever the teachers don't do anything they care more about the uniform more he school have rats the food is gone off and old u could get beaten up in front of the teachers will stand there or walk away but then you will get told off for no reason

My daughter attends and although she is doing well with grades I feel like the students are not respected in any way and my daughter always complains about how she is spoken to by the teachers. The rules are over the top strictness and the school acts like a prison and doesnt give students the freedom they should have as a teenagers They also penalise everyone for a handful of students wrongdoings. Hopefully it will change with a new headteacher?!!!!

Took our child out of year 7 and starts his new school today with other year 7s who left Stanground. Bullying by pupils and multiple teachers (one temp teacher was removed and other reprimanded for name calling), more temp teachers than you can believe, big brother cctv everywhere, I feel its like a school stuck in the 70s. Big mistake sending our child there, won't be sending our others.

I joined this school in Year 7 and left that very same year. I was bullied by none other than both the students and the teachers, and when I developed a painful injury, the school practically did nothing about it and I had to call my mum myself to pick me up so I could go to the hospital. Even then, when she stood in the reception, they denied her enterance and both of us left anyways. Turns out I had broken my arm in two places and I had to be in a sling for MONTHS - not even any sort of words from the school after their obvious overlooking of this! All of the friends I had all left around the very same time I had, and I have to say, I'd never ever let anyone let their kid in this school. It is not only mentally jarring, but also has an incredible lack of care for students' health. Now in a lovely school in Dover and in my last year of school, hopefully parents would heed my warning and not be persuaded by the new-looking features and happy website.

Hey! Im giving my honest review of this school, i am in year 7 and i really like it here, based on the reviews wyen choosing schools i really didnt want to go to this but it was the closest school to me. Teachers are lovely, only a few are a bit naggy and annoying but you cant expect everything to be amazing. No really bullies" just petty 12 year olds who are looming for trouble

I had previously left a one star review, but things seem to be improving so it's only right to adjust the review accordingly. It's still not perfect (what school is) but they seem to be more pro active with handling issues such as bullying. I believe if they carry on dealing with issues promptly and keeping parents informed of updates etc then this can be a great school for kids who actually want to learn and do well. Like any school you have the class clowns, bullies etc ruining the school experience for the kids who actually want to learn but as above the school seems to be improving how they deal with this.

Joke of a school, needed toilet multiple times and was refused to go no matter how desperate i was, this is the same for other students, never being allowed to go toilet, what a joke, expect you to carry on with work for the rest of an hour lesson rather than go toilet which takes about a minute and then be able to concentrate on your work, great logic right there, then bring out the same old quote you should have gone at break or lunch time" as if toilet needs is something you choose."

Worse mistake ever send my daughter to this school. They care more about school uniform than they do bullies. Infact the teachers are as much bullies as the kids are.
