Oriental Pearl Chinese Restaurant

Without any doubt the worst takeaway Chinese I've ever had. The Special fried rice had 2 shrimps, about 6 minute pieces of chicken, some peas and rice. The barbecue sauce was the consistency of tea and totally flavourless. Incredibly awful, awful, awful. I'm actually glad that the extortionate £10.50 I was charged for the portion of garbage I had was tiny.

This Chinese has never lowered its standards. I’ve been coming to this cute little place on and off many times over the years as I’ve moved out of the area twice and I’m back for a 3rd time, I was so pleased to see it still going.The food is still great, always fresh and not greasy at all, plus packed with meat as it’s always been.The customer service is always perfect with lovely light chat laughter with a smile.Can’t fault it in any way. I will always recommend this cheese because of all of these quality’s. Keep up the good work.

Had plenty of take aways from this place. Tonight we decided to have a meal in the restaurant. I was apprehensive after reading the varied reviews but happily It was lovely. The food was great the lady that served us was very attentive and friendly. Would definitely recommend.

Food fairly good, good portions. But mostly, we loved the young guy who served us at the counter. He was super friendly, really interesting and fun, and we loved his passion for life and MMA! We will definitely be back!

Good food but appalling service! Me and my partner are happy to take a joke but the person that served us was highly disrespectful!! We went in to order food not here about the guys genitals, sexual experiences and Slagg of his customers literally as one lady walked out the door, commented on my child and my choice in her father. Disgusting will not be going there again!!

Underwhelming and overpriced. I hope the ghastly food doesnt make me ill. No condiments on the table and i never got the soy sauce i asked for and boy, did the food need it. Failed to detect any egg in my egg fried rice and what duck was in my kung po duck was rubbery and slimy. Avoid.

Nearly didn’t go in. The outside doesn’t give off a fantastic impression and neither does the inside to be fair. We are really glad we did as the food was the freshest cooked Chinese food we had ever had from a takeaway. None of it was reheated or cooked twice like most chineses. It was red hot and you could tell it was all freshly cooked to order as it took a while. This was most definitely a good thing. Was very impressed. Highly recommend. I guess if I had one gripe and it is a very small one it would be the sweet and so it sauce wasn’t very thick.

I'm a big lover a Chinese takeaway. It's the one takeaway I will spend more money on. If I go to ZaZa Bizarre in Bristol, that's the section I covet the most.The Food - I wasn't majorly impressed with this one and was left feeling disappointed. The leftovers to which normally become next days lunch, went in the recycling box. The plus at least - I now own some plastic tubs. The spring rolls were practically all batter and no filling. The prawn toast was over done and like jerky. I could list the whole meal but let's just say £40 of disappointment is a lot to swallow.The service - I made the order by phone to collect. Couldn't fault that, nor the guy. It was ready on time and I was in and out within 5 minutes. I found the menu on their website and was able to download it to my phone. Quality of the image was great.I'm leaving a 3 star neutral review because even though the food wasn't on form (for me), there are other aspects of the business which are good. The pricing to be fair is pretty average and not over the top but for what you get, I wouldn't consider it great value for money based on my order.

I rang this restaurant to ask about what veggie options they offered as on their website, there didn't seem to be much and I thought I'd ask whether some of the dishes could be done without meat. The owner was very rude to me on the phone and said that the menu I was looking at was from two owners ago. I bit my tongue rather than asking why on earth that was still on the website and agreed to come down to the restaurant to order my takeaway as he assured me he has 'lots of vegetarian customer'. On arrival, we were rudely told by the owner that it would be 10-15 mins before he could even take our order and then he disappeared into the kitchen. Having made the 20 min journey down to Watchet by car in order to get the takeaway, we found his attitude extremely impolite. I can't comment on the food, but have absolutely no inclination to eat there following our treatment. What an absolutely rude person. Why anyone would want to eat there is completely beyond me! If you like being spoken to and treated like a piece of dirt, this is your place!!!
