Achmelvich Beach Youth Hostel

Excellent hostel, ready meals available, dorms sectioned off into small areas with thick curtains for privacy, nice staff, good cooking facilities, decent shower, lovely beach nearby. Only down side is no WiFi and no mobile reception. There is a small shop on site nearby for essentials.

One of the best hostels I have ever stayed in. Superb location, very cozy, clean and functional. Great value for money.

Lovely youth hostel. Friendly staff, nice clean rooms and a good, well-stocked kitchen. Also really nice how they had towels for us, never seen that before. Really close to the beach, and it has some spectacular sun sets, I highly recommend. The wee breakfast was amazing too, so all round, 5 stars. Would definitely go back!!

This a wonderful quiet place with a lovely white sandy beach. With a golf course where you are only allowed 1 Club I think. It’s just beside the beach. There is No TV or Mobile reception, So it the perfect place to escape from the modern world. I will definitely be going back.

I absolutely love this place. The hostel is located on a wee hill overlooking the bay and surrounded by lush green hills all around. Time disappears as you sit by the bay, or on the rocky green peninsula (as I did), watching the sun slowly set in the distance. The water in the bay is crystal clear, and the sand is so white. The common room is large and cozy, and the kitchen is well-stocked. There is a yard in front with benches where you can relax and listen to the neighboring sheep. The rooms are clean, and split with curtains and walls for every 2 bunk beds, which was nice. The gentleman that was working there was very friendly and helpful. This is the place to go if you want to get far away from the rest of the world and enjoy the quiet and peaceful beauty of rural Scotland.

The location is good, close to Achmelvich beach which is really and indescribably beautiful beach for me personally. Now I understand why people say Scottish beaches are beautiful! The good part about the room that you can have some privacy by closing the curtains in front of your bed. The mattress was uncomfortable. But overall the hostel was good!

A beautiful hostel in a beautiful location.Our 'host' was friendly and hospitable. The log fire was cosy too.Would definitely stay here again.

Amazing location, the beach is lovely. The staff are great and helpful. Good room and good value

Nice kitchen and dining room with a fireplace. Rooms were in different building and had curtains separating it into 2-bed sections. Very near is the sand beach with crystal clear water and the area is a geopark where it is sometimes very easy to see different layers of the earth's crust.

Located right on the beach, warm welcome plenty of crockery and free food, ensuite toilet in room 2, nice welcome at breakfast. Very very quietNot good: Room-price relation is laughable. I had warm hotel rooms with ensuite bathroom with bathtub for cheaper
