Frequent place for a dog walk. Cycled it too!Great combination of woodland walks, open spaces and views over the city, countryside and reservoirs.

Nice place for a long walk with the dog round the waters. Spotted a lot of green algae under the railway bridge. Be careful if your dogs like to jump in the water. Also people in swimming in the algae water. Parked on Aurs road, a busy road with limited parking, and walked down to the waterfall then under the railway bridge.

A lovely gentle walk which can be either a quick walk to the opposite side of the top damn or a full 8 mile return trip from the Dam to Darnley and back again. Most of the route is tarmac or a well maintained gravel path along the side of the 3 top reservoirs, where you get some lovely views of wildlife. But once you get beyond the bottom dam it's time to start wandering off the main road as the best parts are paths down through the undergrowth where you'll find waterfalls and abandoned buildings

Great place to go for a Walk, Run or even a dip in the reservoir. I use it as my local running route, up from the main road at darnley all the way up the Balgray Reservoir

I come here with family, multiple access points with select areas of parking. This place is beautiful all year round.Really a quick getaway for a breather and just to enjoy the out doors.Three well kept areas for picnics with tables and bins carefully placed around. This is a place between Giffnock and Newton mearns so very local if your from around here.Activities such as kite flying, bike riding and motorised boat playing are perfect here. Also a great place to get your steps in as the scenery does not get boring. There is a beautiful waterfall followed by a reservoir with ample space to walk around and enjoy the day.Definitely a must visit as its worth checking out!

I normally love the dams to walk my dog. Yesterday was a different story. I went to the part just at the top of Barrhead. My dog ran down to the waters edge and came back covered in burrs. He had thousands matted into his fur and they wouldn't wash or brush out. He had to be shaved it was the only way to get rid of them. Dog walkers be aware.

Great place to walk, particularly for dog lovers. Mostly flat, tarmac paths hugging several reservoirs. It has a real sense of history about the area. Parking is available in nearby streets

Been driving past the various entrances for years. So finally thought I'd grab the bike and go exploring. It was a nice sunny day, so was happy just seeing where the path took me. Yes....should have come sooner...absolute lovely.See photos.
