Went to a wedding here and had to park in the overflow car park. Come the end of the evening, I approached a member of staff and asked what time we could access the car park the following day, as we were jumping in a taxi home. I was told ‘I wouldn’t leave the car there, it might get damaged or broken into’ which was really strange I thought. There are no signs up or anything to imply your car is left at risk. We had been drinking so had to allow the member of staff to move the car to the front of the hotel, and give us peace of mind. The wedding itself was a bit chaotic in places. As the bride was about to walk down the aisle, the sound system the venue provided didn’t work. Eventually something else was found to use but I can imagine it was incredibly frustrating for the bride and groom. They had similar sound issues in the evening and the first dance was disrupted because of this. The DJ was then delayed starting as he had to travel home and get his own equipment. It’s a beautiful venue but I have attended weddings at 3 star hotels and seen it go smoother.

Great setting for a wedding. Slightly small bar, but it didn't matter. Little bit pricey on the drinks, but it was expected. The staff was nice and polite and helpful. I would deffinalty recommend people to consider this as a wedding venue.

Lovely venue that makes for a truly special event/ wedding. Beautiful picturesque grounds and friendly staff. Often has events on throughout the year which are great to attend like wedding fayres and mothers day afternoon teas. Would recommend this if your looking for somewhere to get married.

Superb venue for a special occasion - ours was a christening reception.Lovely main building and the extensive and mature gardens are stunning with lots of various little nooks and features to make it a veritable wonderland - especially for children!Staff were lovely too. :-)Only gripe (for which it doesn't get the 5* treatment) is that the food was not quite on par with the rest of the quality provided and experienced for the price they charge per head.

Before booking a wedding PLEASE READ. The venue is stunning and the staff who worked on our wedding day were excellent however, We booked our wedding in 2021 and paid the deposit and signed the contract. We then were told in 2022 that the price for our wedding would be higher for 2023 rates which we were told may happen however it increased by £800!! We signed the new contract and continued with our wedding plans as I had my heart set on the venue. Months later we were told they were no longer offering packages and were told to book things separately. The venue informed us it worked out cheaper however this is not the case when you have to book suppliers they only approve and pay them separately so yes the price of the venue may be cheaper but altogether this is not the case! The lead up to the wedding was extremely stressful and upsetting and instead of being excited for our wedding we felt we just wanted it all over with. We were told for the wedding we need to supply a cable for their sound system and also had to hire table cloths as this isn’t covered (in the small print of contract) at this point we are now way above budget and praying the day runs smoothly to make all the stress worthwhile. I had chosen my aisle walk music and first dance song and was looking forward to these moments however as we go to begin the aisle walk the sound system does not work. A staff member then brings out a Bluetooth speaker in which I could not hear to get timings right and the music kept cutting out when we began to walk. The evening then had similar issues as the sound system also did not work in the marquee meaning we had to do our first dance to poor quality sound. Our evening guests arrived from 7pm and our first dance at 8.10pm. Our DJ had to leave the venue to go home and get his own equipment because the sound system quality was so poor. We didn’t have a working sound system until around 8.45pm. After the wedding I raised my upset with the venue (although I had face to face conversations prior to the wedding saying I felt like I wanted to cancel because of all the changes) that I felt as though after an awful lead up the two pinnacle parts of my wedding did not live up to the expectation I had for my wedding and certainly not for the money I paid. The venue have told me they accept no liability and even stated “I could of cancelled and didn’t have to get married at the venue” and also tried to blame the person I had to choose to do my aisle music (the venue don't do that part either) for the issues. The venue have not been helpful in anyway and the email responses have been quite blunt and rude and no consideration for the fact one of the most important days of my life was ruined. If you book a wedding read the contract finely because they will increase prices when they wish to and won’t accept any liability for failing of issues although the statement for liability is under the wrong section. Truly disappointed.

My son and daughter in law had an amazing wedding breakfast and evening here. The staff were so attentive and the food was lovely. What a day and the rooms were great as well as was the breakfast in the morning. Thank you for making it so special

I had my wedding at the old vicarage on Thursday 3rd August and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The staff were absolutely amazing and went above and beyond for us from the preparation right up to the wedding day. I found this little gem online and it’s honestly an amazing venue with such lovely people running it. Thank you to the old vicarage for a magical day
