I took part in the whisk(e)y and chocolate tasting session at the Corn Stores, which was a truly excellent experience. Each drink was unique and explained expertly alongside a generally well presented session on the craft of making whisk(e)y as a whole. Alex really knows his stuff and was happy to answer any questions as he taught us all about the delicate art of balancing drinks and chocolate.

I've been to several tastings with Thames Valley Wine School. They've all been excellent with great selections of wines and a good balance of information and appreciation of the wines. You can tell that Alex not only knows his stuff but also has a passion for sharing that knowledge. Can't wait for the next one.

Really enjoyable and entertaining wine tasting with the very knowledgeable and friendly Alex. I attended a tasting of 6 unusual red wines, specially selected as being different from what most people might know about. Opened my senses to wines new to me, which was the aim. Enjoyed it so much that I've signed up to a forthcoming red wine and chocolate tasting.

I booked Alex for a private wine tasting event at my house for some members of my choir. We had a fantastic time. He is incredibly knowledgeable, and the wines were brilliant. He has a very good way with people, and balanced the information nicely with humour throughout. Will definitely be using him again.

I've attended several wine tastings with Alex and always loved them! His informative, fun and very knowledgeable - a great way to learn about wine. The events are also great value as they include great wines and there's a range of tastings to choose from, with food, beer and spirits tastings, etc. There's something fun to do every week!

A great experience and definitely the best tasting classes I have been to. Alex's depth and range of knowledge is incredible though, while you definitely come away having learned new things, his classes do not feel like a lecture, more of discussion with lots of interaction. As such, these are ideal for both people with no knowledge or those who already have a lot of experience. I would thoroughly recommend TVWS and look forward to my next experience with them!

We had a fabulous evening with the Thames Valley Wine School enjoying their Cheese and Wine pairing! Really good selection of wines, perfectly matched to the cheeses. Set-up is ideal where everyone can see and hear the instructor and the venue is 2 minute walk from the train station. Can't wait for a return visit!

Great venue, felt very welcome, cool atmosphere, learnt a lot about whiskeys (and bourbons) and was fun. Most interesting was learning to identify flavours. Value for money!

It’s a good class , and the third I’ve done with TVWS- the second with Alex .The group is small , which is good , and the content is interesting .The wines are sufficiently varied to make the various points about their characteristics. They seem to be wines that you could easily source if you like them and the price points for them are not crazy . ( £13-17 if I recall )Personally I don’t think the venue ( top floor of the Corn Stores) is great as were tucked a in a dark corner aunder some wild air con unitsFie me this means I couldn’t read the notes without a torch and as I was seated right under the air con it was tricky to hear at timesI’d go again in a new venue but not this oneEverything else was super

Alex was very engaging and clearly had a great knowledge of the wines he presented and the methods used to make them. The evening was a mixture of presentations, tastings and discussions about each product. We also had a general chat around the group, about our previous wine experiences. A really great time and we will be looking at attending further courses, in the future.
