Every since I’ve been a kid I’ve always dreamed about having a flight in a Huey. Every since seeing them in so many films and TV shows, the way the soldiers would hang out the side of them, it just looked so cool. So when my wife and family clubbed together for my 40’th to make this dream come true I was just blown away.Phil, Neil, Colette and the whole team are absolute legends. From the moment you arrive they do everything in their power to make the whole experience memorable, exciting and fun, and that’s before you’ve set foot on the Huey.I did the flight with my Dad (there was no way he was missing out) and much to our joy, we found out the flight would be with the DOORS OPEN!!! I could barely contain my excitement. There was no way I wasn’t gonna be sitting at the side and I was so glad I did. 3700 feet up with nothing next to me, no door, no window, was mind blowing. Not to mention flying 100 feet off the ground down the Blackpool airport runway, banking left and right through valleys and hills, it being so clear you could see the North Wales mountains in one direction and the Lake District in the other, and just the general experience of having that wonderful Huey noise so loud the whole way round.It was 40 minutes of flight I shall never ever forget and it still brings back my ‘Huey grin’ whenever I think of it. Even when you land you’re given as much time as you need to pose for photos with the stunning Huey, and the team will gladly chat the rest of the afternoon away answering any question you may have!I truly could not recommend this Huey team and the experience they provide enough. It’s worth every single penny, book it up, you won’t regret it. Thanks again to you all for making it the best afternoon!!!

Well......what can I say??? The flight crew & the ground crew all said that I would have a smile on my face for at least a week after the flight! They were NOT wrong!!! The smile is still going strong. Though to be fair, the Huey is my favourite chopper so even if sat somewhere without a view I would still have loved it. Fortunately for me I ended up in the middle seat right behind the pilots. (This was great because I could keep an eye on Phil & Neil to make sure they were flying correctly!) Being a keen flyer myself but mainly PC simulators I was stoked to watch the controls being used correctly and in awe of the in-flight, start-up & cool-down processes. From start-up, the waving grass as the rotors turned, the take-off, twisting & turning through valleys, traversing cloud corridors, sharp banks left & right, screaming down the runway at top speed with more waving grass as we finally touched down back at base.......what an experience!!!Although the Huey (509) is my favourite chopper and taking a ride in a surviving model was one of the best experiences ever......I don't think the day would have been the same without the input of the flight crew & ground crew. On the ground and in the air, the flight crew were great. Serious for the pre-flight briefing and funny, informative & enthusiastic up in the air. My partner who did not take a flight was welcomed in on the pre-flight briefing & all other events and was well looked after by the ground crew and friends of fellow passengers. This was great as she felt she was still included in the day even though she wasn't going up. We both had a great time (up in the air & down on the ground!) and was only sad when we landed and the rotors came to a halt. We would love to do this again as soon as possible and if I won the lottery you would be seeing a LOT more of me!!!Thank you to everyone involved in our great day and really look forward to seeing you again when possible.Best regardsDarren & Louise
