Oaklands Car Park (Chard Reservoir)
It was our first visit to chard resersvoir and we had a lovely time! The car park was easy to find as were the paths leading down to the resersvoir itself. There is a bird hide which was unfortunately closed as it was the weekend but we saw over 10 species of birds just walking along the path and looking out each side. There was a sort of natural play area with logs and posts which the children enjoyed although we didn't stay in that bit long as it was rather cold for us poor adults! We will definitely be back to see how it changes over the seasons.

Oaklands Car Park (Chard Reservoir)
A fairly straightforward part made-up car park serving Chard reservoir from the south. It can get busy in the holidays, and cars overspill onto Oaklands Avenue. Reasonably accessible, though I could imagine people with movement disabilities struggling in the wet.Hint: For reviews of reservoir nature reserve itself, enter *Chard Reservoir (Disused)* in the search bar ... for some reason, Google Maps doesn't have a pin for the reservoir, but there are plenty of reviews and photos if you find it through search.

Food OK. Staff thin on the ground. Tables not cleared and food on the floor. The shop ha a good selection but eye-wateringly expensive.

Great place to take your dog for a walk and let them run. Plenty of responsible dog owners to chat with. Our message 'please pick up after your dog."
