Beautiful place with very friendly staff working. Has traditional African artifacts on walls as decorations.Really enjoyed the meal I had. Great place to come to.

Came early for the table with a large party which was resevered. Came to pay for my order as asked but they already started bringing out starters before I could pay. I waited to pay for food for 30 minuets before hand and by the time I came to my starter it was cold and bland. Had to wait 1 hour 45 minuets for my mains to come and it wasn’t what I ordered and some of it was missing so I ended up paying more than I ate. Staff were extremely rude and didn’t show any concern for the distress they caused and were consistently pushing passed us with force without even saying excuse me the whole time. Other guests decided to get refunded because of the length of the wait yet they wouldn’t allow it. We complained about the food being wrong to the manager but they were also very rude and not understanding at all. Some of the food on the menu wasn’t served as it said it would for everybody and the online menu prices differed to the menu prices in restaurant. Would NOT recommend.

Look at that portion of chicken. For the money you get quite a substantial meal. Chicken could have been a bit tastier but the jollof was cooked very well. Staff were friendly and helpful. It can take a while for your main to come out so I suggest you get a starter. Decor I found to be very nice.

Very relaxed staff , just go with the flow , our server was bery polite and ensured we had all we needed if you fancy a quick bite to eat its not the place but so relaxing

Great African food at a good price. The restaurant is clean with a morden twist. Helpful and friendly staff. I had sadza oxtail and greens. Will definitely visit them again. I highly recommend them if you are in Birmingham and want something different.

I really wanted to like and support Bantu - an African business, but was well and truly disappointed.No host to seat us at our reserved table and instead we had to flag down a waitress to get seated where we then didn't recieve menus until requesting. These were soon taken away to give to other tables as they didn't have enough. Half our order got served and although the meat was generally quite dry what we did receive was tasty.We waited over an hour for the second half of our meal before giving up and leaving, only paying for what we received.The staff where very disorganised and clearly didn't have allocated tables so just scrambled around the place to try and calm all the angry customers.When speaking to the owner he was sincerely apologetic so had left on a nicer note but I will definitely not be returning or recommending.

I went for my sister in law's birthday party (a party of 30 people). To start with I'm disabled and really struggled up all of those stairs.. then had yet more to go up to the toilets. I was told the disabled toilet was out of order!We waited some time for the food to start coming out which was spasmodic. There seemed no organisation. Some had finished their meals while others were still waiting.When we'd all finished they brought out what looked like starters and placed them randomly on the table.The food wasn't to my liking but had a reasonable plain dish although the chips were salty. Most enjoyed their food when they got it.The place looks really good (the chandelier needs a good clean though) and the staff are nice enough but it lacks structure.This could be a great place with better management... and a lift!
