The Moorlands Inn

I recently went back to Moorlands after our previous reservations fell through and was delighted to be informed that not only was Lasagna back on the menu but it was new and improved. It was quite lovely and both myself and my Grandma loved it. As always the deserts were lovely and have never failed me. The only reason I can’t rate 5 stars is because they removed lasagna in the first place and kept informing me over 4 different calls on multiple months that it was never coming back.

Attended for the Harry potter quiz and it was a lot of fun! Well organized event with good ambience and company.Our seats were comfortable, and we enjoyed a lot. Only issue is that the food took two hours, and arrived without cutlery or any condiments, but otherwise did have a good time.Well maintained property with plenty of parking.

Upon arriving arriving at moorlands for our Xmas do the atmosphere was nice and friendly as were the staff. When approaching the bar however I wasn’t ready to have to reach the depths of my pockets for a drink especially considering it was happy hour. Was not very happy.The food I think was one entire meal split into 3 plates and served as rations. Not what you expect for the £40 you pay for the reservation, I think one consisted of a Yorkshire pudding and 2 pigs in blankets with a bit of gravy. The band played a couple of songs and I was on my merry way. It was all in all an okay night just not what you expect.

Was recently here for a wedding. The service staff and bar staff were excellent. Very professional, attentive and friendly. The doormen/security could have however been friendlier.Food was fine, nothing amazing but nothing terrible either, just standard pub fare. Cocktails were delicious and fairly priced (2 for £12). I tried the strawberry daiquiri and espresso martini, both of which were very refreshing.Surrounding countryside is stunning, with ogden water only a 15 minute walk away. The venue itself was very clean, bright and comfortable.The venue is accessible to those in wheelchairs in a variety of ways.

We went on Saturday for an evening meal as a family and the food was absolutely delicious. The staff were very polite and the wait wasn't bad for how many people were eating. The regular portion sizes were perfect for an adult and well worth the price. They also offered smaller portions, which were also good sizes for someone with a smaller appetite. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the moorlands and we will come back in the future.

Lovely little area for the children to play.Had a Yorkshire pudding wrap but was really disappointed as it was literally just meat in the wrap. Roast potatoes didn't seem fresh, maybe sat in a warmer? So just felt extremely greasy and stale. The cajus fries were lovely. My son enjoyed her burger from the children's menu. Service was good.
