Kingston College

I would give 3 stars, by it seems like the effort a teacher should have to put in for 3 stars, wouldn't merit the teachers I have been taught by this year.Perhaps this is a case of over demand for the services Kingston College provide.Possibly it is a case of being an Access Student (19+, level 3). And teachers knowing these students, NEED this course.Often what might appear to be poor teaching ability or sub-optimal lesson preparation; is actually not their responsibility, and actually it is to prepare us for university. . .So really, they're just deeply morale people, on the quest for our betterment, even if it means putting in less effort.Perhaps it is a case of overstretched teachers at Kingston. I have heard two of my teachers, speak about being made to teacher an ever growing number of units, across multiple classes. I do get a sense that they feel undermined and overwhelmed.But this is subject dependent I suppose. - This is just a review of the Computer Science department.Outside of my own claims, our class has dropped from about 20 to about 12, many of which skip certain days to avoid certain teachers.This course is pretty draining, and what annoys me is that it doesn't have to be. Given a teacher's will to live, this subject does not have to be dis-interesting.

I studied at Kingston college and it was horror . teacher being hired that are unable to teach and then getting fired subsequently leaving the students stranded with no teacher while the course continues and assignment deadline being issued for units with no appropriate teachers for the specific unit being tought .

Awful do not study here, one star is being generous!

Do not come to this college unless you are willing to pay as a 16 year old for math retake. I was promised on enrolment I would retake maths in November as I was close to grade boundary. Comes to the time, I found out not only I would NOT be retaking in November, that I would also need to PAY myself to retake or wait a whole year. The maths head said it is random selection, which I feel is horrific as students who were away from grade boundaries got in. I was below 10 marks from passing, and yet I will need to redo be next year one last time before I turn 18 RIGHT before the exams if I had to fail again. Stupidity from this school. Considering other reviews, believe them as they also do not teach you , you are expected to just complete work and take notes, something you could do at home. And to the lady who promised me that I could retake this year, this is all because of you.

Fantastic place to work and study. I have both worked here (for 11 years) and been a student and saw many changes in that time, but at the heart there is a dedicated management team striving for the best experience for their students. This College is continuously improving and are always open to suggestions for better growth.

The teachers at this college have a worse attitude than the students that attend here. Last year when I came here for an interview for the course I enrolled on, I was met by a lady who seemed totally uninterested to me and spoke to me in the most bored, unamused tone as if I was wasting her time. She proceeded to interview me and it wasn't until I mentioned my work experience and the previous courses I took, she began speaking to me in a decent manner. When I was studying here, my maths teacher spoke to me in the most condensing, sarcastic manner ever. They set unrealistic standards for homework with 2 homework's WEEKLY consisting of 50+ questions each. I expressed to them that this was over-whelming and very pressuring, I requested if I could have more time to complete their work or if they could set less as I had my coursework to complete as well. They totally ignored what I said and contacted my tutor telling them that I had said I have better things to be doing". For half of the year they provoked me and twisted every word I said to them. I will not say names but one of the travel and tourism teachers have absolutely Idea what they are teaching. They use to set assignments and change what we had to do EACH time we submitted them in. They once expressed to the class to write in thorough detail on one of our assignments. As They asked

This school is below average to say the least. I'm a current student doing art and design and retaking maths there- but please, if you require extra support for learning difficulties or mental illness DO NOT GO TO THIS SCHOOL. I struggled so much with the maths and they ignored simple requests put in place by a psychiatrist, and they stopped my learning support because of my attendance; which got bad because of the requirements they ignored. If you're not a cookie-cutter, easy to deal with student they will make your experience there hell. Please, if you're considering going here, chose another place, it's not worth it at all.

The admissions staff are so rude I have never seen that kind of rude person in my life. I was at English class 6 months I paid £900 I learned nothing just waste my time and my money I went some other college it’s free for me and learned a lot completely different they should accept me for free but when they know they said no you have to pay I am done with them

It’s like you have to teach the teachers things in class.. if you’re planning to do IT you’re better of learning it at home because all you will do is put numbers in a spreadsheet or write 30 page long PowerPoints on the e-book given which basically means copying the book but writing it in your own words and learn absolutely nothing applicable in the real world.

When I read the reviews majority of the bad ones were about the Administration staff. For the last 2 weeks, I have been trying to find out if O was enrolled and what subject they enrolled me onto. I emailed Admissions last week and got a passive aggressive reply. They told me they would ask other staff in other departments but never wrote back to me. I sent out another email and got no reply. Now I’ve been calling them for the past hour and it keeps ringing saying “Thank you for calling, the operator is busy so we’ll send you to another operator” and never does. This is someone’s future they’re messing with and they only care about getting paid.
