After booking my campervan in for a timing chain, water pump and full service thinking my van was already for our next family holiday. We made it to Okehampton from Birmingham after the coolant running dry and engine overheating and pressuring. Holiday ruined i had to hire a car and book hotels to still enjoy a family holiday. After 10 days of relaxing we got the van back to Smiths Ford to be told the head gasket had gone took no ownership for any wrong doing.I then asked them to repair the gasket at acost of £620 after being quoted £550 ( they snapped to headbolts and charged me for the privilege) it took nearly a month to get my van back after broken promises. I had booked another holiday after repairs to go back to Cornwall to enjoy the van. Yet again another bodged repair the van filled with burning diesel fumes whilst on the motorway with me and my fiance and 3 year old. We had to pay for a hotel at Weston Super mare and bring the van back the following day. Still leaking diesel via injectors.Smiths Ford i will be in touch Monday 26th July 2021 to see how you will rectify if we cant come to suitable areangement i will be forwarding all reciepts and external garage report for your faults and be seeking reimbursement for repairs and hotel fees.UPDATE 26/07/2021 1500PM***** I spoke with your mechanic that had arrived at the van to inspect and he took ownership of the faults that you had created on the van. Very polite member of staff saying i am very sorry its our fault but we need tow it in to recitfy give the bloke a payrise for customer service skills.I've spoken with youselves and asked to delay the pickup of my van whilst i have a third party engineers report done to confirm faults and findings so hopefully we can resolve this issue with out involving Motor Ombudsman and trading standards. ***** Thank youAfter having an Engineers report done via a third party commercial vehicle mechanic i will be sending across acopy of this and will be seeking compensation for the damage you have caused to my vehicle. I have spoken with both trading stands and motor ombudsman and everything will be logged through them.I will be in touch in due course once i have recieved the final Engineers report.

To the garage owner, Just so you know we will be seeking legal advice and going to small claims having the cab fuel of diesel fumes after having our vehicle back twice after the headgasket went after first repair". We have a 3 yr old child in this vehicle. You think your stressed mate!! Try been in our shoes*** GOOGLE THIS CON MAN AND YOU'LL KNOW EXACTLY WHY NOT TO USE HIM**"

Booked a Ford Fiesta for a repair today which had a hissing noise on harsh acceleration and engine management light was illuminated which is every motorist nightmare!I dealt with a chap called Pete who came across very polite professional and knowledgeable about repairing Fords.The car was repaired within few hours and, I was charged a price other garages would charge just to diagnose a fault and say it needs further investigation.I would recommend Smiths Ford to family and friends without hesitation.Thank you pete.

DONT USE KEEP WELL AWAY.After taking my daughters car for a full service and mot they said it needs 2 tyres and screen washer motor not working. When home found washer motor working OK, just empty. So wasnt checked properly but mot fail ??. So we looked at the oil level and this nearly empty too. It wasn't even reading on the dip stick. Had to take it to another garage and they put 3 litres of oil in a engine that only takes 4.5 litres. Even when shown the receipt for another £30of oil wouldn't refund , and was very rude claiming it only needed a little top up. I don't call 3 more litres of oil a top up.Also after saying fitting included with the tyres said ,no we charge but haven't so that's the £30 for the oil we owe you. How can you run a garage like this. I would really use another garage and keep clear of this place.

NOT WITH A BARGE POLE. Got a full service and specifically asked for brakes to be looked at. Picked car up with front pads having been changed and went on a family holiday with a car full of people the following week.Had to call AA due to noise from the rear of the car whilst away, only to have the car declared UN-ROADWORTHY as a result of worn rear pads and damage to disks.Spoke to Smiths who said get some pads fitted and I will change disks all around free of charge when you get back.Had to be towed 25 miles to nearest KWIKFIT who refused to fit pads without disks as a result of scoring on the disks, but in any event did not have disks in stock. So had to buy pads as supply only and luckily got someone to fit them.Went back to Smiths where Mr Back Street garage man placed his clearly very clever hands at the back of wheel for all of 5 seconds and declared that the disks were fine and that the AA were wrong and Kwikfit were wrong and he would not replace the disks- so we seem to be dealing here with the mechanical equivalent of a modern day faith healer.So, off to Trading Standards, and perhaps worth letting the Vatican know about this mans seemingly miraculous healing powers even if it is just with cars.Has anybody else had similar problems.? I believe Smiths was previously the Indepenedent Ford Centre on Warwick Rd in Tyseley,ONE STAR AS UNABLE TO POST WITH ZERO OR MINUS STARS OR A SKULL AND CROSS BONES.

I arranged a repair for heaters not working and not giving hot air on a 2009 Ford Focus, the chap that repaired my car knew exactly what he was doing and was familiar with the car.Repaired it within 2 hours and other garages were telling me to try replacing other components, i was charged a very competitive price, Smiths Ford knew exactly why the car was not giving hot air, they saved me time money and misery, as it's getting cold and winter is approaching, i needed the heaters working for the kids especially.Thank you guys i will recommend you to friends and family.Kind RegardsAjmal

I’ve used this garage for MOTs for a while and took my Fiesta for a service there today. They’re always friendly and trustworthy, don’t overcharge and don’t try to force unnecessary work on you or fail MOTs for improbable reasons like some bigger garages are prone to. A strong recommendation from me.

First class service and repair!Having a Focus with an oil light on, I spoke with Pete who advised of the issue and how it could be repaired.I shopped around and almost every other garage said ‘new engine mate’, I popped to meet Pete before I committed to the work being carried out and he was very helpful and reassuring of the options.We towed the car in on Tuesday and had it back on Wednesday, all fixed at the agreed price.Kurt, one of the mechanics called to advise of a brake issue, no selling, just advising, we also had this rectified whilst in.I cannot recommend Smith’s Ford enough, they saved us £1900 on an unnecessary repair as they knew their stuff - will definitely use again in the future!
