PIER Team (Psychosis Intervention and Early Recovery)

Absolutely terrible

Whenever ringing reception to chase up appointments, scheduled phone calls or to sort out medication, receptionists are dismissive and rude and don't have a clue what they are doing. Support nurses don't stick to their schedules, they are always changing, seeming to be very unorganised and dont even bother ringing to apologise for the inconvenience they cause by keeping their patient in the dark about what is going on. In fact, if a support nurse misses their appointment or scheduled phone call, they don't bother to even contact the patient at all and leave it down to the patient themselves to chase up what is going on which is stressful and extremely unprofessional. When asking receptionists of the PIER team what is going on they seem annoyed and come across as rude and like they dont care about the situation at all, in fact, in most cases they make the situation worse. If people could actually do their jobs properly, this situation wouldn't have to happen. It's that simple. Just do your job.When you can finally get through to someone that is being paid to help you, they don't have the time of day to listen and understand your needs or go through solutions to improve, they are unhelpful and spend little to no time to actually listen to your concerns.This has been happening since I started 'getting help' from the PIER team, which was many years ago, but in actual fact all they have done is make my life more difficult and create unnecessary work for me to do. You are getting paid to look after seriously unwell people and I highly doubt anyone is actually getting the correct treatment, support and care that they need.The lack of accountability and organisation from all of the staff (doctors, nurses and receptionists alike) only enforces the idea that they do not care about how their service can really negatively impact their patients.It's a complete and utter disappointment and nothing has improved over all of the years I've had to deal with them, in fact things have gradually gotten worse to the point that I dont even get surprised by it any more, I get more surprised when a member of the PIER team can actually do their job to an acceptable standard. Utter disgrace.This service seriously needs to improve for the patients like me, who have to rely on it.
