An Oxford institution! You simply have to go to G&D to have some of their lovely ice cream. The staff are fantastically friendly, the prices aren't ridiculous and the ice cream is great. You can't go wrong - they're even open till late!

After my first visit last night, I can now understand the hype around this Oxford institution. Great range of really creamy, filling ice cream including some very quirky flavours. I wanted to have a brownie sundae and they had sold out of brownies but the staff let me have a brookie instead (brownie with cookie dough, highly recommend). The server very patiently allowed me to try a few ice cream flavours so I could make up my mind (I am terrible at choosing things on the spot!). The sundae was beautifully presented and a real treat. A very nice spot to people watch and meet friends, although a little noisy if you wanted to work (although surely the ice cream is the whole point of coming... )

Having a scoop at G&D's is on to-do lists of things at Oxford and when we chanced upon this place near Christ Church, our only aim was to go in. Nestled at the corner, G&D's has a subtle ambience with a menu signage behind the counter indicating all that can be sought out here.We looks into the homemade ice cream options and settled for a scoop of Peach and Super #?*! Chocolate each.Peach was a refreshing taste that's light and fruity and the Chocolate was decadent and both the flavours makes you to have a bite after another just hoping that the cup doesn't empty soon.Situated close to Christ Church, this is the place to be when you have got a sweet tooth or want to try something savoury as well (they serve bagels too). Despite a rainy weather, we devoured the ice cream but as winter approaches a cuppa or hot chocolate from the cafe could be your warming embrace.

Nice cafe with good range of bagels. Enjoyed the veggie bagel, which is available with houmous or guacamole & is vegan. It is not the most exciting combination in the world, however. A wider range of vegan options would be good

I’ve visited here a lot over the last 14 years and it’s not what it used to be. When I visited last week from out of town, I had really hyped this place up to my partner - but we were both disappointed. The portion sizes were tiny and, despite ordering different flavours, both our ice creams just tasted like milk. I remember they used to do this thing where they lined the inside of the cone with chocolate sauce, but they don’t do that anymore. I asked for chocolate sauce anyway and got a really pathetic little squeeze right on the top that was about the size of a 5p coin.

tasty bagels - though our pizza bagel was quite overloaded with pepperoni and tomato sauce. Nice spot to sit outside (shame about the wasps so it'd be good to empty the bin frequently).
