Nice little shop, good variety of local stuff, prices are steep for regular knits, spent £65 on 2 hanks, 5 or 6 patterns and a short pair of needles! Hidden away but a sign is at the end of the alley access. Be a confident experienced knitter with the patterns as some bits not well written. Nice owner and very helpful unless you point out fault.

I've never been to the shop, but I did find that Purl and Jane had the best selection of UK tweed yarns for mail order. I was quite surprised to find that Jane of Purl and Jane was incredibly friendly and personally responsive despite on online order from a complete stranger an ocean away. Probably the best and one of the most personable and friendly yarn buying experiences I've had even counting in-person shops. The tweed was, of course, incredible beautiful, soft and thick, I was enormously satisfied. I would recommend Purl & Jane to anyone, world wide!

Lovely little knit shop just off the beaten track, owner was warm and friendly. I am a totla beginner and she took the time to help me pick wool and answer lots of questions. Stocked up on my new supplies and got a couple Christmas presents too! Thank you

I was scouring a soggy Skipton for 2.75mm double pointed needles and losing hope till Purl & Jane appeared on Google. Tucked away behind the main street it is an absolute find for knitting supplies, a warm, friendly welcome and sound advice. It isn't a huge place but it has original wools, some of which are Purl & Jane dyed. It's a pity it is not on my doorstep or I would be a regular customer.
