UPDATE 10/2/19 - Just had the two different guys that work out of this address contact me - MEL screaming down the phone for leaving a bad review and JAMIE sending abusive text messages. These guys are an embarrassment to the trade - AVOID dealing with them if you want a car that works and you don't want to be harassed.NOTE* There are two companies operating out of this address and they share the same office. Whilst Melvyn, of Hadleigh Used Cars, partially resolved our problem when we brought it to his attention, this review is to warn everyone about the dangers of dealing with the other person there, Jamie.Absolutely shocking service - Avoid at all costs! Bought a car from Jamie (Mr JM RUDD) and after getting it home I noticed that there were several electrical faults. Added to this black smoke poured out from the exhaust pipe sometimes when the engine was started. Then the steering column virtually seized up. I took the car back to him where the electrical faults were put right, the steering column 'greased' but with no action taken on the exhaust - He stated that's just what old cars do.Within two weeks of this the car's yellow engine warning light came on and virtually lost all power. We live a 90 minute drive away on the motorway and this car was un-driveable in this state. Initially Jamie said he would come and collect the car but then changed his mind and said I'd have to get it to him. Being un-driveable the only possibility would be for me to pay to ship it via a transporter. (Initially he agreed he’d contribute towards the cost of the recovery but then reneged on this leaving me to bear the full cost.)After repeatedly ignoring my phone calls and making promises that were constantly broken we reached out to Melvyn who resolved the issue partially for us. I had to accept a reduced buy back price from Jamie and Melvyn actually was the one to pay us this because Jamie just hid in a corner somewhere. I have reported Jamie to the Trading Standards and Citizen's advice bureau who are currently investigating this matter for me as I am looking to get back the remaining £245 plus incurred expenses which I believe I am owed.Extremely dishonest and untrustworthy character and I would definitely recommend thinking twice before buying a car from this person.

Had a good experience when purchasing a car from here. Mel was very helpful with a good range of used and reliable cars.

Do not buy from these people. They will sell you a faulty car!!! Absolutely gutted, they took car back to look it over and claimed they sorted the faults with it. Nothing was done! Dodgy tyres, oil leaks, horn doesn't work, car doesn't lock, hand break is weak, and dodgy battery. Do jot trust them! One problem after another!!!

We looked at a nice clean Ford Fiesta, the guys were friendly & helpful but with hassle free viewing or pressure. Could not do enough when asked for a test drive & answered any questions we had, we ended up buying the Fiesta and we have had no issues what so ever.

As someone who has great difficulty in making decisions while having very specific needs, Jamie and Mel have been very patient and tolerant during my multiple visits. I brought my mother to look at a car I had great interest in who fell in love with a Vauxhall Astra which belonged to Jamie. Jamie was very honest about the car and even gave my mum a lift home when she took it in to the garage, offering to help with repairs if needed.During this time, I had visited and tested multiple car's and not once was I pressured into making a decision nor was my uncertainty punished . Even when I looked at a car from another dealer, Jamie offered me advice over the phone and not once tried to persuade me from buying elsewhere.Jame has offered to bring a car I was interested in to my work when I wasn't able to go down to look at it, has kept me updated when he's come across car's that might be good for my situation.Unfortunately due to medical reasons I had to move to an Automatic and found a Honda CVR and a Vauxhall Corsa that I really liked. I ultimately went with the Corsa and despite it being simple and not something I was originally interested in, Jamie gave me plenty of time to think about it and when I made the decision, went out of his way to bring it to my home when I was unable to pick it up. On top of this, Jamie helped me get rid of my death trap of a car I had at the same time.Is the car flawless? No and it wasn't sold to me like it was because no used car is. It will run into problems that may not be foreseen because nobody has a looking glass into the future but I have complete faith that both Mel and Jamie will help me in the future if and when the car runs into problems.

Known Mel and Jamie alot of years and couldn't recommend them more.Helped me source My first car and would not hesitate to buy from either Mel or Jamie again.Have recommended them to my customers and haven't heard a bad word, not once, I am shocked to see anything other than 5 stars for Hadleigh used cars, these guys can't do enough for you, even after purchase.Keep up the top work guys.

Jamie is THE best car salesperson I have ever met! I found his garage by chance and cannot recommend him highly enough! He sold me a fabulous Ford Fiesta and I have not had a day's bother with her! His after sales service is first class and he has a customer for life in me! If you are looking for a car, look no further! Seriously!

Got a great deal on a second hand car. They couldn't be more helpful. I even had rear sensors fitted before taking ownership too. Recommended.

so i brought a car from these guys and they do seem like decent people so it could be bad luck but. within 6 months of getting the car the coolant housing blew, crank arm sensor failed, gearbox needed a complete rebuild due to failed bearings, new clutch as well. 1 of the suspension springs is badly corroded, all 4 brake disks are warped and need replacing, one of the calipers is binding, front anti roll bars are knocking, track rod end has excess play on both sides, oil leak, and a lower ball joint has play. would have thought that they would have noticed some of these issues when prepping the car for sale.

Just helped my Father in Law purchase a Fiat Punto from Mel. Excellent service, very friendly and extremely patient in the face of a barrage of questions ranging from seat adjustments, radio channels and how to undo the petrol cap! Very impressed and would definitely recommend.
