Very bad experience. Had 3 engineers trying to fix my engine. One tried to change the thermostat, one tried to change water pump, another one changed the gasket while he was likely still high or hungover from the night before (he couldn’t almost talk and kept asking for water and more water).Result engine not fixed.The manager of RCR, was also very unprofessional. I called her and explained her I would call another engineer that was suggested to me by another boater, to have a another opinion regarding the issue of the engine. She told me she new the engineer as he was one of the very experienced contractors RCR would contact if they wouldn’t be able to fix the issue (her words)She asked me if she could call this engineer to explain the case. I asked her not to call him as I would contact him privately, and not via RCR.The experienced Engineer arrived at my Narrowboat to investigate the issue, and while assessing the engine he mentioned to me that RCR contact him to discuss about my engine.Very unprofessional of her.Spent a lot of money with RCR, engine was not fixed, very disappointed, and I wouldn’t recommend this service to anyone.No one of the engineers would be able to tell me what is the issue.RCR probably is good for change of filters and change of oil, change of batteries, basic maintenance.I decided to write this as another boater next to me just had similar experience, bad service.

I can only say I have had brilliant service from both the office staff and the mechanics who have been so helpful in getting my boat back into service. Superb, worth every penny!!

We attended a services point at Meadow lock. We switched off the engine and it wouldn't turn on when we tried to start.35 minutes later our engineer was on scene. Kerry I think. Fabulous service, not only did he rectify the electrical fault , he gave advice on other parts of the engine. Absolutely delighted with his advice and assistance.

I have tried to contact RCR twice via the contact form on their website and have received no reply either time. Extremely disappointing.

M1 South PE70 RTU 21 Nov, driving dangerously, undertaking, tail gating, speeding causing other drivers to brake. Hope your boat fixing is better than your driving. Highly unprofessional.

Sorted me right out and the staff were all fantastic!!! Happy to be a gold member for rcr because they've always had my back in a pinch!!

We cannot praise River Canal Rescue too highly! We had a gear box problem which an engineer (Kerry) correctly identified and helped us move on. Another engineer (Arron) fitted a reconditioned gearbox for us yesterday and enabled us to complete our six week cruise. Thank you so much to all the people we spoke to on the phone over the past ten days too, we are very grateful.

Had a small fire in the engine bay. RCR attended identified the problem, ordered the replacement starter motor and returned to fit the part. All is now well. I was kept informed of progress throughout by phone and text. Very pleased with the 5* service

First time we've used this, since getting the membership with our insurance company. We had to pay £50 call out, but it was well worth it, we were delighted with the service. I rang about 2.00 on a Sunday afternoon, and we were on our way again a couple of hours later! Many thanks to Dan for fitting a new fuel pump so efficiently, you're a star!
