Gerrards Auction Rooms

I bought a watch that, unfortunately, had a small crack in the face. Gerrards immediately acknowledged the fault and reimbursed all the costs including postage, very happy with the service.

Shocking postage rates which are not transparent. £20 is apparently the standard rate they kindly add to your invoice. Disingenuousness at its best. I see I’m not the only customer with the same experience. Buyers beware.

Wonderful family run business, very helpful, fantastic auctioneer & everything is displayed so beautifully. The best auction house in Lancashire, such a beautiful family!

I purchased a lot on invaluable which was a box full of random items (25$) (photo with vase) paid the shipping (145$) and received the box with the items displayed. My delivery address wasn't complete and the shipping company told me the auction house alone had the ability to change address information however when contacting the auction house they said they weren't able to but later did after some prodding. When I received the one box missing items in the auction photo, I contacted the auction house again and Zoe was short via email and reluctant to tell me there were two boxes sent and I could do my own research. After many emails and a long phone call, the auction house never called me back nor did they email me. I am contacting my bank and reporting the company. As an auction room online, trust is all a bidder has. I would not trust this auction room again.

Was thrilled to buy at my very first auction ( & yes, I read the t’s & c’s ) & delighted with my purchase. Sadly, a huge let down with the postage charges. Only a small item & was initially charged £22 plus VAT, when I queried this I was told it was an error & charge reduced to £20 plus VAT which I still thought excessive. Royal Mail provides a next day delivery with items insured for up to £500 for less than £9. Imagine my surprise when item arrived, only sent signed for & postage label showed postage paid was £5.39 !I’ve read comments from other customers & I know all about staff costs, etc etc but this markup is outrageous. My first auction with Gerrards & quite possibly my last unless postal charges reviewed. Such a shame.

My experience with Gerrards has been really great. Some of the items had great sentimental value and the care and consideration given to me from the first call, to a private visit and the success at the end have made it all a very pleasant experience. I will certainly recommend Gerrards to friends.

Was served by two Amazing ladies at the fylde vintage fair today. Lizzy especially was so kind and helped me when the card machine went down. Lovely people, will be down to the auction house to see them x

Spent a lovely couple of hours with my family here whilst on a mini break. Very friendly staff and lots of bargains! 'Maureen' in particular couldn't have been more helpful! Well worth a visit! Adrian

If I could give Zero stars I would. My partner and I collectednthings that hadn't been sold in auction over last couple of months, now we had old pictures still in original frames with authentication labels on them, we had boxed brand new limited edition dinky/corgi cars and boxes wedgewood items as well as rare collectible cigarette cards you used to collect and old cpins. A bootful of stuff and we got peanuts back there fees on selling are through the roof. Never use these you'd get more at a carboot.
