Thank you to Neil and Paul who came out today even thou we are meant to be in lock down to repair my shutter. One of our delivery drivers decided that he did not like our roller shutter and drove straight into it damaging the bottom of the shutter. I was unable to lock the warehouse as the shutter would not close but thanks to HVP Shutters the repair was completed quickly and professionally. Thank you

We purchased 4 x K25/K-lite roller shutter doors - 3 worked perfectly the 4th has never worked and from day one has not been fit for purpose. I subsequently contacted your company with regards to the fact that this K25/K-lite roller shutter door (the 4th shutter door to be fitted as it was the main entry door) would not operate in manual mode. We adjusted the guide range but this still had no effect as the shutter door was jamming solid when operated in either direction, starting to deform the shutter surround.I contacted your company HVP Security Shutters Ltd and eventually was put through to Stephen Ridge your company’s Repairs Manager. From day one Stephen Ridge was adamant that the K25/K-lite roller shutter doors should not be operated manually and that they only operated correctly when connected electrically.Following lengthy discussions, Stephen Ridge came to the conclusion that there was something jamming the motor mechanism which is located within the central barrel of the shutter door. He informed us that the only way to free the motor was to remove it from the shutter surround which would require one of our engineering team to drill out the rivets that were holding the motor mechanism in place, and then subsequently un-screwing the holding brackets and then removing the motor and barrel from the shutter surround. This operation took two of my engineers 2 hours of their time to undertake and complete. They did not find anything jammed in the motor, but when they attempted to operate the K25/K-lite roller shutter door manually it still exhibited exactly the same problem. As had been the case before, even when adjusting the guide range the motor mechanism jammed and was subsequently starting to bend the casing only after half a turn either way!I contacted Stephen Ridge of HVP Security Shutters Ltd again and after multiple conversations, which have taken place over a two month period, we finally managed to get sent down a new barrel and motor assembly. My engineers subsequently fitted the new barrel and motor assemble into the shutter surround. This took approximately 2 hours of my staff’s time. Once the new barrel and motor were installed they fitted the shutter to the door opening and connected it to the electricity via the control box supplied. Once everything was installed and connected to a dedicated 240volt electric supply we turned the key with the end result that it completely bent the K25/K-lite roller shutters surround casing. In conclusion this K25/K-lite roller shutter door “Was and Has Never Been Fit for Purpose” it has never been possible to manually operate this K25/K-lite roller shutter without it jamming after half a turn in either direction. The Fact that your Repairs Manager Stephen Ridge is adamant that K25/K-lite roller shutters should not be operated manually (Except in Emergency) flies contra to your company’s own Technical Specification for K25/K-lite roller shutter doors as detailed below:Technical Specification K25/K-lite roller shutterOperation:Manual push up/pull down operation; or electric operation by integral tubular motor with manual override facility. Safety brake fitted when required to comply with BS EN 13241:2003-1 (HVP Security Shutters' general policy is to fit a safety brake unless specified otherwise).Furthermore, the main reason for installing the K25/K-lite roller shutter doors was to ensure that we met our Insurance Company’s requirements. The fact that our main door remains without a working shutter puts our business at risk and your Company must accept responsibility for not fulfilling the promised obligations.
