Amazing place, a warm atmosphere with great food. Staff super friendly and helpful. Food came at a decent pace, without the need to ask the whereabouts of our food.Awesome presentation of food too, it's my fault about the creme brulé, I wanted to dig in so bad!!

Oh my goodness, this once magical place has sadly gone. I have been visiting this gem for 20 years on a yearly basis as a treat. Visiting this year it's clear the family that built such an amazing place have sold and left and sadly I will never return. The food was a little over standard so now overpriced but more importantly the service was average to poor.. So many faults but many are simple things such as attention to detail, the ladies that greeted us had no warmth or smile and clearly not interested in doing their job. The building had most of their lights turned off including the actual signage outside the building with no flowers which it always made an example. Waking up this morning I was still sad that such an amazing place I once highly recommended has fallen to such depths. RIP the Butchers Arms you were once the greatest of the region.

Lovely place. ♥️Great atmosphere. Fantastic food and excellent service. Came to celebrate my dads 80th birthday. There was a card waiting for him on the table and the staff all wished him happy birthday. They turned the lights off for the cake presentation and all sang happy birthday. They truly made our night special.The food was faultless, really gorgeous.

Amazing old building, like walking into a castle.Great food, and superb service. Very friendly.Very clean facilities.Must visit if you can. Expect to spend a bit more on the brilliant food.

We visited while barging on the canal, park at Bridge 124 and walk through the cow fields, seriously, towards the village.We booked a few hours of our visit and dressed smart casual, cow field remember!The service and food was tremendous.We was a party of 4, all eating different dishes, I had the Portuguese Pork dish followed by a Portuguese cream tart.The food was fresh and delicious.Not the cheapest night out, but we'll worth the effort and cost.Will visit if we are down this way again

Celebrated a birthday here last night. A lovely touch was a birthday card on the table. We were made very welcome, with excellent service throughout.The food was well presented. I could recommend the duck which was cooked to perfection, served with fresh carrots, cabbage, and dauphinoise potatoes. Followed by rice pudding creme brulee.The tables in the restaurant are well spaced, so the ambient noise levels are low.

Absolutely brilliant!! The most delicious food and wine, fantastic service, stunning décor. We came with our baby and they made us feel so welcome. Thank you! It was our first Christmas meal out as a family ☺️
