My machine developed a major problem right before I was going away for a sewing retreat. The mechanic stepped in to save my long awaited sewing ‘holiday’ and repaired the machine and checked everything else out at the same time. Thank you Steve!

A friend recommended I come to this shop! So glad I did, I’m just a beginner so not overly sure on what I’m doing, the workers were all polite, even while my little boy was kicking off in the shop, they even held the door open for me to leave!We will definitely be coming back!

Franklin's Salisbury has a large range of machines on sale. Staff are happy to let you have a go or to show you a demo.Delivered same day as we were on holiday.Really helpful with spare parts for my older machine which I could not recall the model of , I emailed pictures, they rang with a price , once paid they popped the part in the post.Very efficient service.Would use again and recommend to others.

What a great place to go to get what you need. I was recommended this place by a friend, as I was looking to get a sewing machine for my 10yr old daughter and had no idea where to start. The guy in the shop was very knowledgeable and had the time to spent with me to help me make my choice. The sewing machine was a great Christmas present. Upon getting the machine I returned with my daughter to get some bits and pieces as she wanted to make a deer. Again met with people that were happy to help. The lady's were great and helpful at making sure we had everything we needed. I highly recommend this place for customer service and knowledge. We will return.

This just a great shop they wool.crochet cotton any thing to do with sowing materials staff are very friendly and helpfull would very much recommend .wools and crochet cottons are upstairs i think they make up curtains as well but not sure i know they have sowing room upstairs

Excellent shop full of everything you need for sewing knitting or embroidery. Machine service available too and very friendly helpful staff. 5 star

Went in to look at wool for a new project and felt extremely unwelcome with both staff members upstairs ignoring me, with one going on their phone at the tills and the other looking miserable. I ended up not getting anything as it was such an uncomfortable experience, which is a shame as I prefer to support local crafting businesses rather than buying online. Personally, I think there are much better places to buy wool, where the staff are actually friendly and don't make you feel bad for looking at their products.

If you're into crafting, you will be in heaven. A must for all crafters.

Unfortunately, I am not able to stand by my original 5-star review.It would seem that between selling a sewing machine and dealing with any subsequent problems, this store has two very different approaches.I had to return twice to have my brand-new machine repaired – annoying and inconvenient at best. However, on the second occasion I was treated in such a rude manner, I left the store in tears.Having written to the company to bring this to their attention, I can only describe their response to this horrible experience as – tepid.As an ‘out the box fail’ I do feel that I should have been offered a replacement machine (which was part of the original sales patter).It was the lovely Service Manager who eventually saved the day and made sure the machine was repaired and returned to me.Would I recommend Franklins Salisbury – ABSOLUTELY NOT – which is a pity, as this is not a reflection on all of the people who work there.When buying a new sewing machine, the choices seem endless – where do you start? I am so glad I made the trip to Franklins and was helped by Neil. He took the time to understand my sewing needs, giving me honest feedback about the various options. I walked away an extremely happy customer, knowing that I had purchased a machine perfect for my needs. Thank you Neil.
