Head Fen Country Retreat

Such a Relaxing environment and we had a lovely time staying.I will be booking again shortly to take advantage of the Fishing Lakes whilst the wife chills in the hot tub. Ideal for all types of tranquil breaks, the staff was very welcoming.

Just had a 10-day break in beautiful surroundings for me as the 'fishing widow'. My partner - the angler - was in 7th heaven. Accommodation was a very good home from home.

A lovely couple of days in tranquil surrounding. Accommodation bright spotlessly clean. Husband enjoyed his fishing and the hot tub was a bonus for me.Staff were amazing and friendly. We will be returning.

Nothing like we thought it would be - stayed one night and left!! Pictures make egret look like views and open, in fact at front you look at car park and house opposite and at back trees so tall and thick can’t see sun or lake and no space to sit there. We wanted a quiet week taking in scenery - do not chose egret if that’s what you want! Cathedral yes, look lovely, but didn’t know that from the site and we would have been happy if had cathedral. Waste of time and money for us.

Just returned from a couple of nights in our motorhome on the Head Fen touring site. What a stunning location with outstanding panoramic views. Booking was very easy and Sarah gave us a warm informative welcome on our arrival. We met our son & daughter in law who were staying on site in a lodge. My husband and our son had a glorious couple of days fishing. Would highly recommend Head Fen for a peaceful and relaxing break. Thank you Sarah

We stayed in Cathedral lodge 2 this time, it was still perfect in every way! Clean, modern, amazing views, quite, tranquil, good for fishing, enclosed veranda, beautiful, very friendly owners, hot tub very relaxing and very clean! Perfect to relax and unwind, recommend a day trip to Ely about 15 mins away. A meal at Lamb and Flag avout 10 mins away. Highly recommend Head Fen, guarantee you won't be disappointed. If you like to fish my husband had over 30 carp in one week, biggest 23-4. Enjoy! X

What can I say, such a beautiful place to relax and unwind! The lodge (cathedral view 3) was spotless upon arrival and the views just blew you away. I got up every morning to watch the sunrise and got some fantastic photos. The hot tub was amazing, we were in it every day. We didn't want to come home! Sarah answered all my questions before arrival, everything was perfect! We will certainly be back!

We had a 4 night stay in the cygnet cabin/pod for our honeymoon. Was a lovely location was nice to sit by the lake with the fire going. The hot tub was hot enough to use on our first night which was a bonus. Would definitely go back

I have been here twice! first time just m and my partner, was lovely apart from we got put on the wrong lake/ wrong image was used!( not the owners fault booked on another site.This time we stayed in Cathedral lodge 3, there was 6 of us, it says online that it sleeps 6 people, 2 x rooms 1 x sofa bed, that wasn't a problem. what was the problem, we got there make everything was clean, great views, fishing was good, but when it came to bed time. we made the sofa bed up, it was so lumpy/ hard, just not very nice, then when it got light, as the blinis are cream, you are up at 5am in the summer! there is also a very bright green light, which yes it for the fire exit, its in your face when you are trying to go to bed!Next morning... went to all sit down for breakfast, notices only 4 chairs around the table, only 4 glasses then we sat outside as it was sunny, but again only 4 chairs around the outside table as well? okay fine the guys had fishing chairs we will make this work, well then came the hot tub, No way does that fit 6 adults, maybe 4 adults and 2 kids but not 6 full grown adults.We spoke to the lady in the office, she kindly offered us a pod for 2 people , which was lovely but the other side of the site, but when you book time away to spend it together, people always had to leave.Please change this to a 4 person lodge or get more seating/ a new sofa bed.It did sort of ruin our holiday!, other then that , fishing was lovely view was lovely all very clean the beds were comfy but shame about the sofa and seating!
