Very slow to get things done and the counter staff can be rude and harsh and dont like to help very full of themselves quite often have to go above their heads to get anything done often having to resort to going to the councilers themselves or using inverness/dingwall staff to get things done.

Stay away from Wick or any other city where the Highland Council is responsible for parking enforcement. The Highland Council is merely trying to trap people into paying parking fines in Wick. Perhaps this is the case in other highland cities as well. They do not adequately label the no parking areas or indicate clearly that parking is not allowed. There are small signs indicating no parking on the corner, but if you happen to park in a spot where these signs are not visible there is no way to know that you are in a no parking area. The signs are at the entrance of the area, but they are not visible or apparent from all parking spots. You may not be aware that you are in a no parking area until after you get the notification. When you try to protest, they will indicate that it is not their fault that you did not see the small sign at the entrance.I would not recommend visiting Wick or any other city in the highlands where the highland council is the parking enforcement agency. They do not clearly mark no parking" areas and they are not lenient when a foreigner indicates that the "no parking" areas are not clearly identified. The highland council is not clearly marking "no parking" areas and unfairly enforcing parking in the highlands. It reflects poorly on the highland cities in general.I'm familiar with speed traps
