We placed our order and an hour later we still hadn’t received our order. I decided to phone the store and the phone operator was very rude and wouldn’t let me talk. When our food turned up an hour and 20 mins later the delivery driver kept on buzzing our front door 3 times repeatedly when I have on my delivery notes to call when outside. We have kids here and they both woke up crying. Not Happy. On the other hand, food was good…

We have been loyal customers of Golden Rice for many years. In the last year their delivery has been ver slow - on many occasions they take 2 hours to deliver for which they should be embarrassed. We ordered food yesterday and not only was the delivery time 2.5 hours - but the food that turned up on our doorstep yesterday was disgusting. Rushed, flavourless, stale. After giving them our custom for many years - WE ARE FINISHED with golden rice. There is a much nicer chinese takeaway called HOME COOKING also on WHITLEY STREET - I recommend them instead.

Paid online and was called an hour later to be told that they had no one to deliver my order and that they would refund me the following day. A week later, there is still no refund. It's such a shame since the food is delicious here but can no longer trust ordering from them.

Absolutely disgraceful. I ordered from here 2 weeks ago from the Uber app. I ordered just before 5pm and received an estimated delivery of 5.30-5.40. I had a house full of kids and grandparents and spent almost £60.6.15 no sign of food so I kept calling the number. 7pm no answer, no email, money taken. With this I send my son to the local take out assuming I wasn’t getting my food. During this time, way past 7 pm and 2 hrs after I ordered.. I get a call asking if I still want my food?? It still needed cooking and delivery. The man said they had no staff until this call. I said I had already ordered elsewhere. He agreed it was their fault saying I would be refunded by UberUber sent an email with money off coupons stating I would get FULL REFUND!!! However since then I find out this restaurant told them it had been cooked etc! This is a complete lie and I will be taking this much further. I have confirmation of this and phone and order records.If this restaurant believes that I would sit for over 2 hrs without any reply or correspondence while my children are hungry they are wrong!!!!!He said they had no staff to even answer phone so why take an order at 4.45 then call me at home 7/7.30, expect me to wait to be cooked and delivered and then LIE SAYING I CANCELLED! To take my £60. Never I will take this all the way out of principle

Food absolutely terrible don't waist your money wouldn't even feed it to a rat ribs are thick chewy noodles are like with boiled veg chips are disgusting all in all horrible experience shocking customer service my daughter found plastic in her noodles she is 8 years old awfull

Refused to deliver my order through uber eats about an hour after already accepting. They had claimed that I had cancelled myself when putting it through the system and now have to wait between 3-10 business days for a refund and have not been able to eat tonight.

Unfortunately only giving 3 stars due to the shocking delivery service. Ordered on just eat, email order received at 8.05. Delivery time of 9.20. Phoned at 9.30 to be told driver on way. Phoned at 9.45 to be told driver on way. Phoned at 10pm (an hour and 50 after placing order and 40 minutes after it was due). Told them to cancel order and she was all surprised why I would want to cancel. Driver arrived 2 minutes later. I accepted the order and their only saving grace was that the food was hot and nice although the chow mein was dry. Not the best experience.

I would give this 0 if I could. We ordered through Just Eat at around 7:30pm, and were told that the delivery would be at 9pm. At about 9:15pm I used the Just Eat app to report it late and it told me a text would be sent to the restaurant and they would reply to me within 5min. This didn't happen, so I tried the number supplied by the app. This was a mobile number that was either engaged or rang out without answer.When I was finally able to get through, at 10pm, the gent was apologetic and admitted they had taken on too many orders. He asked the kitchen about my order and was told it would be at least half an hour extra before it even left the kitchen, and conceded that the delivery time would be very late". We have cancelled the order as having it leave the kitchen 3hrs after the order was placed is unacceptable.The restaurant did not have the courtesy to contact me at all to inform me of the huge delay and did not bother to update the delivery time in the app at all.Don't bother with this place. There are bound to be Chinese takeaways that actually value their customers - these clearly do not."

Placed order at 6:30. Food still not here at 8:22. Rang twice , was told to wait 15 min. Waited 25. Still no food. No apology , was told only have one driver you have to wait. Second call - all was said , ten more min wait is all we can do. Ask if they could do anything in form of compensation. Answer was - NO.HORRID service
