The Kingfisher | Student Accommodation Exeter

Excellent place to stay in Exeter. Reception staff (Hannah and Helen) are friendly and always happy to have a chat, which is especially welcome during the lockdown. Staff are quick to fix any problems, and always provide advice in sorting issues and checking resident's wellbeing. Security are quick to answer a phone call, and are on-site in minutes. Wi-Fi signal can be weaker at the weekends, but that's expected with a larger number of users at peak times. Any issues that have happened are due to residents themselves (e.g. rubbish being left in communal spaces and noise), and are never the fault of the staff. These issues are quickly addressed and rectified.Plenty of help was provided when I first moved in and my studio was clean when I arrived. COVID-regulations are in place, with barriers at reception, signs informing residents to wear masks and antibacterial gel at all exits and the lift. Laundry costs are relatively cheap, and resident privacy is always respected.I would 100% recommend to students looking for somewhere to live in Exeter.

The only good thing about the Kingfisher is it's location. Other than that, i hate living here, it feels like a prison due to the many security locks i have to go through every time, the staff is not friendly at all, making me feel as if i'm being judged for everything i do and their attitude about things is not relaxed at all. Additionally, the sound proofing between the walls/ceiling is very poor and the rooms although nice in appearance, are not very practical. Common room is really nice but there isn't any sense of community unless you know people from before. Not worth the money. As i already made obvious, i would not recommend the Kingfisher and personally i can't wait to get out.

Staff are lovely. Rooms are modern and equipped with necessities. City centre only 10 minute walk away and Streatham Campus about 20 minutes up hill

I have stayed at The Kingfisher for about a year now and it has been fantastic. Amanda, Jen and the entire receptionist staff are great. They helped me with great many a things to ensure my comfort here.The rooms are spacious with all amenities, and the common room is loaded with everything you need from a movie night to pool games to a study session. 10/10 recommended.

Really bad experience, disappointed and unworthy place.1. Stuff enter room for no reason several times. Reception stuff and cleansing stuff are very rude to us.2. Noisy, sound insulation is very bad between floors.3. Bad WI-FI, broken network every month.4. Lift alway in maintaining.5. No 24h CCTV, no 24h security stuff.6. Stuff sometimes required unreasonable extra charges, deposit refund is difficult to get full amount back.I went back my country because of COVID-19, but I planed come back to pack my luggages, reception asked me to return keys before the end of tenancy term. I have more than 4 month rent when I left, stuff said re-let is not allowed, they will return my money if I return key to them. But only return me 1.5 month rent.bad reception stuff，bad service and false advertising made the good located accomadation not worth living in！Disappointed！

The staff are all really friendly and helpful, and the Kingfisher is perfectly located with a 5/minute walk to town and a 15 minute walk to Streatham Campus. Sidwell Street the street next to the kingfisher has lots to offer, with various takeaways, grocery shops, cinema and tesco express. The rooms are all brand new and clean and a good size with plenty of storage.I would highly recommend the Kingfisher to anyone!

I stayed at Kingfisher in 2017 (january 7-august 15) and very satisfied with my accomadation. Its location, room size, all the storages were good. And the most importantly you have your own toilet and kitchen in your room.

Having an amazing experience here. Met lots of great people and the staff working here are really friendly. Would definitely suggest the kingfisher if you are looking for a place to stay in Exeter. Also the common room has great amenities with a pool table and big flat screen TV's which are great to use.

I have been living here for three months, and there are remarkable notes about this place.1- Location: it is near Stratham campus (20 min walking) and 10 min waking from City Centre, where I can go there any time even in the middle of the night. Moreover, down the building there are Tesco, restaurants, Morrisons, and Asian grocery store, and all just minutes walking.2- Maintenance: Since I came here, there has been a maintenance for water and heater. No one came to my studio, but I received an email notice telling me that someone may come to my room.3- Staff: friendly and helpful that they emailed me early to tell me to not receive parcels during Christmas in specific dates because the office will be closed (one month early).4- Not five stars because the price is expensive for a studio, but it is luxurious comparing to other students accommodations, and because they only offer Studios not apartments.
