I had a very disappointing experience with one of the leading estate agents while trying to sell my cottage, but then I was contacted by Lloyd Williams of Roderick Thomas and he was so charming I was happy to let him try selling it.It was a totally different and pleasing experience with RT, they handled all the viewings without me being there, I got instant feedback and when finally a buyer made an offer I got good advice. I think the greatest thing however was that I trusted them, knew they were enthusiastic about my cottage and they were straight forward in their dealings with me. An excellent company with delightful staff.

We sold our house through Roderick Thomas and the whole experience was great from start to finish. Everyone there is incredibly efficient, friendly and quick to respond. We mainly dealt with Melanie who was really helpful and professional throughout. Would definitely recommend them!

I recently dealt with Melanie McCarthy when trying to purchase a property. This was a horrible experience. For the benefit of full disclosure we lost the house to a cash buyer.Melanie McCarthy lied to us on more than 1 occasion, was patronising, provided appalling customer service and was generally an unpleasant person to deal with. Now you may be thinking 'you lost the property and this is just sour grapes', you may be right, but this is a factual review and a warning to others.Melanie McCarthy also broke client confidentiality and Data Protection laws by giving me information relating to a previous sale which fell through. Vendors beware Melanie McCarthy, with little prompting, was happy to tell me the previously agreed sale price. This enabled me to offer £15,000 lower than the asking price! For the record we would have been happy to pay full asking price. Had the sale of completed she would have cost the vendor £15,000. She had no regard for her role of 'working for the vendor' and clearly was happy to play both sides and would break the law in order to achieve a sale. This doesn't strike me as someone I would want to be selling my property. You may be thinking 'its his word against hers' however the call where this was discussed was made via Right Move. You may not be aware but Right Move calls are recorded!I wrote to Roderick Thomas to inform him of this. He replied promptly however in his response made no reference to Melanie McCarthys working practices. I also informed the vendor of Melanie McCarthys actions and how happy she was to share confidential information regarding his sale.
