Had a problem with my mum's talking book player,I phone and explained what was wrong ,when I turned up they had one waiting for me ,and we found out with the ladies help on reception that the battery was at fault ,so got a new battery and a spare talking book player all for £17,what a fantastic service

They were cheerful and happy and encouraging I have only had one visit but the person who I spoke to was reassuring about my visual impairment he gave me a lot of information on what goes on in the centre and I will go back again but not sure when.

As one of the volunteers here I can say it is one of the best places I have ever had the pleasure to give my time to.There's so much going on and the whole place echos with laughter.Special plug for our devices workshop where we show people with all sorts of visual problems how to use mobile technology. Also to our music group, which is a fun place for musicians of all abilities to play together in a fun and supportive environment. We also do gigs fairly often.

I have finally visited the Resource centre's charity shop. Tucked away in the corner on a main road. Good quality items as well as very competitive prices compared to other charity shops. Save the planet, by second hand! Would recommend.

This is a warm welcoming and friendly place for blind and partially sighted people of all ages to socialise, learn, and gain independent life skills. They run a wide range of social and learning activities including cooking, music group, arts and crafts, computer skills, Braille, guitar group, and a lot more, they are always adding new things to do and are open to ideas. They also have a plot at an allotment where the gardening group go every week to keep the place looking great and grow fruits veg flowers etc.So whether you want to learn some cooking skills that will make you a better chef than sighted people, or you just want to relax with a cup of tea and talk about last night's EastEnders, there is something here for everyone. You can book a ride on their minibus to pick you up from your home and take you to the Centre for any activities or just a visit, they will also drop you back home. All volunteers and staff are ready and happy to help with anything. As well as just having a chat and a laugh with you, they can help with things like fixing a talking or Braille watch, providing information about resources or organisations that can help with various things, helping with filling out forms or reading letters, or telling you if your hips look okay in your new dress. If they don't know something, they will find out for you.It is also a great place for parents, teachers, or anyone who would like some information or support with supporting a loved one or student with sight loss. The main building features a computer room which has a bunch of computers all loaded with screen reader and magnification software. There are also a few different CCTVs for partially sighted people to use, these can be used to magnify a book or documents or anything physical onto a screen. They also have various magnifiers and other tools, equipment and resources to help blind and partially sighted people, just ask one of the friendly staff or volunteers to tell you what is available and show you around. There is also a common room where people gathered to socialise or catch up on work, reading, or the latest football scores, people often bring their laptops and take advantage of the free Wi-Fi.There is a small kitchen for people to make teas and coffee is, there is also a bigger kitchen with talking microwaves ovens etc. You can come here to warm up your lunch and eat, it is also where the cooking classes gather. There is a separate building at the back which I believe is called the Marybelle building where various activities such as the music group and arts and crafts take place.Summertime is a great time to visit as there is a pretty garden with a big lawn and benches outdoors. There is also a car park on site and the site is all wheelchair accessible as well.As well as Coventry resaws centre being a great place for service users, it is a fun and rewarding place to volunteer with a wide range of opportunities.
