Old Down Estate
A wonderful place to take the family. The play park is huge and very new, the gardens behind the cafe are amazing and there is a park for younger children there as well. There is a forest play area/wild area just beyond it and that was great fun. Over all a really good place

A really enjoyable relaxing place for the family in amazing grounds. The best thing for me about this place are the walks and the views across to Wales taking in the bridges. There is a lot for the kids to enjoy too.The kids enjoyed feeding the farm animals. When we went there was a childrens entertainer. There is also a great play area where they can spend hours running around - sand pits, zip wires, trampolines, climbing frames. There is a fairy garden and outdoor chequers which adds to the day. There is a great cafe/restaurant with a large wood fire. For max value, consider an annual pass for repeat visits.

This is a lovely and smaller country estate used as an events venue. They also offer afternoon tea and Sunday lunches. It's next to the Old Down Country Park, however visiting the estate does not give you access to the park where the animals are.The service for afternoon tea was good with mismatched porcelains, with good quality food. The grounds overlook the Severn bridge and the garden is beautiful.Bear in mind that this place is not as well established as the nearby Tortworth Court is.I would like to try their Sunday roast lunches next.

Great park with loads to do. Nicely spread out so never feels too busy. Two great play areas, one for younger kids and one for older. Lovely gardens and stunning house. Two animal areas and small fish pond. Cafe is nice with plenty of covered outside seating and picnic area. They also sell their own produce. Great day out!

The ferets had no water, we had to give it some of our water and it drank loads. The reptiles has old mouldy water. The wallaby had no grass and was on its own. None of the cages had actual locks on them you could just open them up. The grounds were nice and the flower gardens are nice, they are building a new maze which will be awesome when finished. My sandwich was nice but it had tuna in the container. If they cared for the ALL the animals my star rating would be higher but I don't like seeing reptiles and other animals neglected.

Such a great family day out. Really enjoyed it and will be getting an annual pass.My little one loved seeing the animals and playing in the big outdoor space filled will so many activities. Great place for adults too, with plenty of things to see, great for views or a walk, and have a picnic when it's dry.
