Prudhoe Castle
Steeped in history, an imposing castle tucked away in the woods. You can easily see everything in an hour, a great stop off on route to Corbridge Roman town. Small carpark, no tearoom, low visitor numbers but well worth popping in if you're a member of English Heritage.

Not a huge place but lots of information and a lovely walk around the castle. Very steep entrance, although disabled can be dropped off inside the castle.

Lovely visit. Colourful Rhodedendrons in bloom. You can walk round the outside as well as the inside of the castle. Scenic spot, with lake.

Very interesting lesser known castle, we enjoyed our quick tour. Only castle in Northern England not to have been taken by the Scots when England and Scotland were warring.

This is a castle that has to be seen. It has some buildings which are intact which gives a good idea how big it was at its best.

A real surprise, this is a charming, but small property to visit. The car park is small too, though I doubt it gets super busy. It's a very short walk to the entrance. Entry appears to be taken largely on trust (it is English Heritage) as the shop is inside the castle. There are plenty of picnic tables in the courtyard, plus bins. Toilets are clean & adequate though the hand dryers are useless. Disabled toilet access is inside the castle. Staff are friendly & helpful. Lots of hidey- holes for the children to play in and walks around the outside of the castle. A few hours well spent.
