The first time I tried to find a way into Strabane Glen, I parked on the Curlyhill Road at the top of a hill and beside a workyard and opposite what I thought was the entrance to the Glen. I gave up after it became very wet and marshy. Do not enter the Glen by this open marshy area, it's not a good way into the Glen. The second time I tried, I eventually found an entrance. It's on the start of the Woodend Road from Strabane, there's a concrete lane after 0.3 mile on the right with a carwash on the corner. Drive up this lane until you get to a two storey grey house and there's a little parking area opposite it and by a children's pirate ship. The parking area belongs to the owner of the two storey house, they kindly allow parking here so don't leave any mess. You can walk up past two bungalows and into the Glen from here. The Glen is wild and beautiful with steep sides above you and a little stream and waterfalls running through it. There's plenty of birds singing and pretty wild flowers. You need to wear good walking boots, as it can be muddy and rocky. The linear walk takes about 45 minutes one way and the last 5 minutes will take you to the left of a marshy area and up the slope of the Glen until you come to an opening in the hedge that brings you out onto the Curlyhill Road near a bend and a stop sign painted on the road. You will need to retrace the walk from here, back to where you parked your car. It would be possible to park on the Curlyhilly Road, near the workyard and walk up around the bend until you find the opening in the hedge on the left and walk through the Glen from this end. The only thing is that there isn't much parking space on the narrow Curlyhill Road, I'd recommend starting from the Woodend Road side. I'd like to come back and walk in the Glen after there's been a few days of heavy rain, to see the stream and waterfalls at their best.
