The White Horse
We had an ok experience, staff were initially helpful but their interest seemed to tail off as the meal went on and after ordering we had a little wait for our food. I had the roast beef, which whilst there was plenty on my plate it was quite tough and chewy. The accompanying veg was hit and miss, a few cremated parsnips and untrimmed green beans some carrots and a burnt Yorkshire pudding completed the dish. I paid extra for pigs in blankets but at almost £5 for 2 small sausages each this seemed steep. We bit the bullet and ordered dessert, after almost half an hour the desserts made an appearance. The cheesecake was again bang average and have a very grainy texture with a thin soggy base. The quickest any of the staff moved was when I asked for the bill and card machine. The overall atmosphere was a bit weird, it seemed a local pub for local people with unfriendly boarder-line rude locals. For me it was overpriced average pub grub and we wont be in a rush to go back.

As a full-time wheelchair user, my experience is an an entirely passing one. There is no disabled parking (well, not that I could find) but there are impossible steps at the entrance anyway. And not one of the outdoor tables is suitable for me too. So, a lovely location, but of no use to me whatsoever. Hopefully the new management have plans to do something about this?

I’ve been here a few times now and wow!The food was absolutely beautiful: the burgers are beautifully cooked, the pizza’s are some of the best I’ve ever had (better than Dominos in my opinion), and the brownie is to die for.I found the service to be both friendly and efficient. I didn’t feel at all ignored but I also didn’t feel hovered over and it was a perfect balance.My only complaint is that I can’t go every day! Well done to all the management and staff for creating such a treasure of a village pub :)

Always passed by this place on the way to somewhere else. This time we were on our way back and needed dinner. I'm glad we stopped!Warm welcome from staff. Taken to a window table with views over the village.Massive choice on the menu. My wife chose the fish and chips. I and our son chose pizzas.Considering we had just been on a seaside holiday the fish and chips were better than we'd had by the sea. The pizzas were on clearly hand made bases, with very full toppings. All meals were very tasty. Excellent value as well.We'll be stopping off again in the future. Recommended.

Excellent food and first class service. Friendly and attentive staff (without being intrusive). Good location and our dog was also made very welcome. Hope to visit again soon.

The White Horse
New owners - now operating as a traditional British pub with concise menu and much improved beers. Popped in for a quick Sunday lunch. Good kids menu with excellent local sausages. Choice of two roasts and a few other mains. 2 local ales and a range of other beers on. Good quality food and service. Hopefully will be back soon!

Excellent hostility, which is run by a great landlord and his staff. The food was freshly cooked and very tasty, and the chips were absolutely fantastic. Portions are a good size, and prices are really reasonable compared to elsewhere for inferior offerings. We absolutely loved our lunch and hope to make a return visit before too long.

Stopped yesterday with the intention of having a meal. While looking at the menu, we ordered a coffee. When it came, it proved to be the worst coffee we've ever tried. The landlord spilt on the cup on his way to the table. There is no offer to bring a new one. This left one cup only half full. When we tried, it was weak and tasteless. We didn't bother staying, left the coffee and left

The White Horse
Had a lovely meal at The White Horse. First time we have been in since it was taken over and what an improvement! The starters were delicious, the mains were good and we also enjoyed dessert. We will definitely be back.
