Ordered a bespoke bookshelf and was so impressed with the service and quality that I immediately ordered a second. Clearly in demand as a highly-skilled professional, but worth waiting a few months for furniture that will last a life time!

We are so pleased with our shelving units. Edward was so professional and friendly from the first moment we met him and we had complete faith in him. He listened to what we wanted, quickly took measurements and sent us a computerised design to check out. The finished product exceeds our expectations and we highly recommend this service. Edward designed and built floor to ceiling wardrobes when we moved into our new house earlier this year. To say he is in a class of his own is to understate his expertise, vision, design ability and superb workmanship. They are a clever mix of varied height hanging spaces and shelving and a stunning design. He followed up the wardrobes by designing and building a shoe cupboard which is actually multi-purpose as at long last I have found a place for all the bits and pieces I have accumulated over time. Because of our current lockdown situation, very few people have actually seen and admired our wonderful wardrobes, but those who have are very impressed. A lovely young man who has a brilliant future ahead of him as a bespoke cabinet maker.

I own and run customer facing businesses and find that when working with some suppliers, all too often when they get busy, they cut corners or lose that all too important individual customer service. That was not the case with Edward Armitage Cabinet Making.I Googled a cabinet maker in my local area because I needed a wardrobe, desk and bookcase that needed building in as I couldn’t buy what I wanted off the shelf. I came across Edward Armitage Cabinet Making and chose him over several other cabinet makers purely on his existing Google reviews.From the very first discussion I had with Edward, and my rather non-technical way of explaining what I wanted, he listened and suggested better solutions and woods that would work better in the space. He never chose the easy option even though I wanted a rather complex design. He went away and designed what I asked for, supplied me with a design drawing and even a short movie on how the items would look.When it came to installation, his dad came with him to help, and I have to say Edward and his dad were a pleasure to deal with. It’s never easy having workmen in your house, but they were in my house for three days and took so much care in everything they did and tidied up after themselves each day. The workmanship was excellent and finished to a very high standard.I have to say this is one of the best companies I have had the pleasure of working with and believe me I speak from experience.I write this so that other people understand what a great small business this is.Eamonn

When we moved several years ago, Edward build a set of shelves for my new office (more like library!) - I cannot fault anything, from discussion on deciding shelf depth through to height requirements in terms of leaver arch files to novels, to build quality and style. They are elegant, timeless and so well built that I really expect them to outlive the commercially bought furniture that was bought at around the same time. I have had so many compliments on them too. You don't have to see many examples of his work to see that he is passionate and talented either!

Having recently redecorated our living room and replaced the wood floors, we also wanted to replace the cabinet that housed our audio-visual (AV) equipment with a unit that more suited the new decor.Having looked at many furniture stores and searched online, we were unable to find anything suitable so we decided to look for a bespoke cabinet maker and were very pleased to find Edward Armitage Cabinet Making in Howden.We described to Edward the type of style and colour finish that were we looking for and he kindly produced some detailed designs for us to discuss. After some fine tuning and experimental wood colour staining, Edward set about producing the cabinet and two matching side tables for us.Throughout the whole process we found that Edward was very willing to listen to our suggestions and added useful observations of his own, which help things run very smoothly.When the cabinet and tables arrived, we were very pleased with the results, the craftmanship and finish were immaculate and we can wholeheartedly offer our five star recommendation.

Edward built a beautiful cupboard for my spare room. The finished product is fabulous, crafted and designed by an expert carpenter; installed with great care. I would highly recommend Edward, skillful and talented, very polite and professional. Excellent work and attention to detail.

Professional service from start to finish. We had custom-made oak wardrobe doors made, the finished result way exceeded our expectations. Don't let this gentleman's youth fool you his work is to a very high standard and his skill level is exceptional.
