Uncaring and unprofessional GPThey sent the wrong links to book appointments and when we book, they cancel- but refuse to apologise or accommodate. So I have to wait for the third week now to talk to a GP.When you complain they ask you to leave the practice and register elsewhere rather than apologise. When I told them they have consistently failed me. They threaten me with ZERO TOLERENCE policy.

In agreement with some of the other posts, yes it can be quite hard to book an appointment and the lines are very busy. I have always found the reception staff to be very helpful and accommodating. I have never had an issue with any of the Doctors, Dr Taplin, Dr Clements and Dr Cavanagh especially have been extremely helpful.Since the pandemic it does seem a bit harder to get seen by a doctor without a lengthy wait, but on the flip side whenever I have been to the surgery it does seem inundated with obese people and people that light up cigarettes literally as they have stepped out the door. It could be relevant.

It's so sad reading people's feedback. I also didn't have a good experience with this surgery. I have changed to another local practice with great reception staff and the most amazing forward thinking doctors. Abbey has a lot to learn to reach the standard of care I now receive. There are so many better doctors locally and I would encourage anyone who isn't happy to change surgery. I have no regrets having done this and the difference is astounding. I feel listened to and involved in decisions rather than being spoken at and sighed at. It's also great to see the rudest GP ever has since 'moved on'. Just to say the nurses at Abbey have always been good, it's just a shame about the doctors.

Brilliant service. Today I used e-consult service and have a script ready to pick up for some ointment for my child. Absolutely easy and very slick.

Decent enough practice except for one GP in specific,Dr Clements. Not only did she call me a liar for something, but she also over prescribes patients. Avoid her at ALL COSTS! Edit: I retract my statement about it being a decent enough practice, it is not. The amount of gaslighting, shouting and talking over the manager did was ridiculous. Didn't want to hear a thing I said. One minute calls are being recorded the next minute they aren't. Place needs to shut down

I have been calling for 3 weeks to see a doctor. They always tell me to call tomorrow. Their kidneys probably haven't hurt yet. The kidneys are not a pain in a finger or hand, it's a vital organ.

I've not had a good experience with this surgery. I've had appointments with most of the doctors and haven't found them to be very caring or bothered. Some of them are so rude especially the senior partner. It has put me off seeking medical attention in the future. I tried to speak to the practice manager about the concerns I had and she was going to look into it and ring me back. 6 months later and still waiting.

I've been going to Abbey Medical Centre since I was a baby and as it evolves with the times and journey of the beloved NHS I am reminded how it remains a friendly, well functioning practice that provides patients with the best possible care. After a fall on Wednesday I called the practice for an urgent appointment. I called at 8am for an appt, was seen on time at the appointment offered for 09:40 the same morning. Dr Houlton carried out a thorough assessment of the damage, gave me advice and options in a friendly manner and referred me for an Xray for a possible fracture (fortunately none) the same morning so I was at home by 13:00. I have just received a follow up text to check in and see if I need any more pain relief. While I was there I saw receptionists calmly help patients and staff, squeeze in prescription requests to save patients fretting or having to make repeat journeys and overall simply and calmly deliver their NHS service. All during the largest junior doctor strike we have ever seen. Huge thanks to all of the staff for the wonderful job they do for our community.

The nurses are great but I sometimes wonder whether or not NHS doctors have their hands tied. I can't get an MRI scan despite ticking most of the boxes for a serious disease! How is a person supposed to get checked?
