It is a nice useful station for people for newark and matlock with some going to Lincoln and Leicester. It is great to have a frequent bus service near the station. The staff on the trains are really nice.

Decent enough local station. Unfortunately no auto ticket machines. It would make using the service much easier.

There are currently no display boards up showing which is Platform 1 & Platform 2. Unfortunately I have just had to take a guess at which is Platform 1 & I guessed wrong & have consequently missed my train to Nottingham, which has coincidentally now cost me one hours further delay until the next train is due to arrive. Seriously how difficult is it to display boards on the platforms showing which is which..this is 2017 for Gods sake !!!

Carlton is a basic unmanned station, you can't buy a ticket, so you either buy online or on the train
