I was on ward B1 South just recently with heart problems. All I can say is, thank you to all the staff for giving me hope and helping me pull through a difficult time. Dr Emily Gott, Justin in theatre, Nympha and Hazel in recovery. You absolute angels. And thanks to the catering staff for some great meals. A big thank you too, to all those who work in B1. You're doing an amazing job. ❤️

Parking can be very difficult here, especially if you are visiting between 11 and 3. The staff on the desk aren't always helpful and can have a 'can't be bothered attitude' in my experience. Service is good depending on which department you're attending. Physiotherapy is fantastic. In gynaecology I have waited an hour or more over my appointment time for every single appointment I've had there. Urology is very busy too.

Just spent 4 hours driving to Cardiff for an appointment, including 48 minutes looking for a car parking space. Rang the hospital to let them know the situation. 20 minutes later get the call asking did I remember I had appointment today. Appointment cancelled as not enough time now for my treatment. New date and time arranged. This hospital needs to sort out its parking, the multi storey was full of cars looking for spaces with no luck and the open air parking had cars waiting for others to leave. Sort out the parking or come up with a better appointment system. Wouldn't want to be a regular patient as the stress would be too much.

I went to a+e yesterday with my patner after my lymphodemic left leg had unbearable pain to the point I couldnt walk on it or move it. Got there about 1:30am, got vitals checked then left for hours while only being given some cocodamol to help ease my pain. Was given a blanket that caused me a server reaction to whatever was on it was told id get some pireten or something to help with the reaction. I ended up having to be in a wheelchair due to pain. 10:30am I had blood tests taken and told if I have a dvt spike I'd get a scan. I asked about the piretin, was told id get it, but didnt. Given morphine that didnt help my pain much at all. Got given scan letter, then kicked out of little room we were in because we shouldnt have been in there" and they "needed the room for more important paitents". more hours pass even after asking nurses multiple times for any information we got nothing. Pain got worse and i ended up vomiting due to it. 2:30pm I was finally taken for a scan only for me to have to stop it because the ultra sound wand being pushed into my calf was excruciatingly painful. The nurses who did the scan were totally understandable and were probably some of the only people who were pleasant in the hole time I was there

Excellent hospital with a huge range of services let down by awful parking dilemmas and reception queues! The last thing you want to worry about during an emergency or urgent appointment is parking. Parking can take a long, long time. Waiting to check in at reception can also mean a lengthy wait. Arrive in plenty of time.

Clear & Visible Covid Guidance in place, Sanitiser readily available, Signs openly visible & information staff on hand to help. A number of shops accessible to visitors and patients, Excellent Staff working under extreme pressure were courteous and were caring and went that extra mile, cannot fault the dedication! I felt 100% safe whilst there & a big Diolch yn Fawr to the staff - clean toilets too

Came to the hospital for a morning appointment, looking for a space accidentally drove through the staff car park (didn’t park there) as I wasn’t sure where to go, found a spot else where 15 mins later then had a fine through the door a week later for £40 stating that I drove in to staff car park and left a few mins later. the photos of evidence was me entering and leaving not actually parked. What an absolute joke, please beware if your driving your car to this hospital.

Excellent service and under great pressure. I only wish that staff understood the non emergency transport situation when booking such calls on behalf of the patient!

Parking is a nightmare there , the food is very poor , about the same quality as school dinners , except for the porridge which is lovely , the staff working at the Heath are second to none , doctors , nurses and auxiliaries are bloody marvelous , they are knowledgeable, patience personified , and generally very kind people , they deserve to be paid double what they are being paid , Wales NHS you should be very proud of your loyal hardworking staff , ...
