Pets at Home Clacton on Sea

After a hard search to find the place I was told it was at Clacton on sea so I hired a boat and searched and searched and found nothing untill a fisherman told me it was on the land!I brought a fishtank from here and when I got it out the box I found it to be very misleading!It had no water in it or any fish and the two children looking in the fish tank on the box were also not included.All the dog treats tasted discusting and I couldn't fit in any of the cat carriers.

Everything under one roof! However, I would like to see a bigger variety of kg weight bags of dry food in particular the 7.5kg bags of chappie. I can't wait for the vets to open up within the building. The store is run by helpful & friendly staff.

The most bizarre and horrendous shopping experience EVER.Went in to purchase 2 goldfish for my daughters birthday and when we asked the shop assistant what a 'welfare check' entailed, she lost the plot and walked away from the transaction.When I approached her to ask what on earth just happened she shouted 'you spoke to me vile' but nowhere in the interaction had anyone been disrespectful, just queried what they were doing with the information.The low level of customer service was beyond shocking. One can only put it down to her inability to explain what a welfare check was for a goldfish.My son (2years old) excited for his first goldfish patted her on the leg and she gruffly told him to 'wait'.Absolute embarrassment for Pets at Home.If she cannot talk to other humans with any small level of respect, she is in the wrong job.Will be sharing my negative experience with anyone who will listen. Disgraceful.

Don’t want business obviously… phoned up to see if they had a particular fish in stock… was told no! Then turned up as we wasn’t convinced and was told there wasn’t in store, then when we looked we saw them and asked for them::: was told 25 mins before closing time that there not selling fish due to closing soon.

Took my granddaughter to buy a hamster today.The lady that served us was genuinely interested and gave us all the details for looking after the hamster. A lovely lady taking great care of how she interacted with us and the Pygmy hamster. Would totally recommend to anyone. She even took time to explain every thing to the children as they will be looking after her! 99.9 per cent sure it’s a girl but there is always 1 !! Excellent

Very rude lady working in there with ear piercings. Refused to sell us a hamster because she didn't want us buying a cage from another shop. Mainly because she wanted us to buy a huge expensive cage in their store. Then proceeded to tell us that the cage we had for our last hamsters which all lived to a very good age were mistreated and stressed.She told us that hamsters don't like to climb and only do so because they're stressed. This is completely untrue, hamsters love to climb and dig and multi level cages with platforms will make the most of the available space giving your hamster more area to explore. This is fact. So I don't know why the hell she said they don't like any of these aspects.Wouldn't let us buy a hamster despite us getting a cage elsewhere. Just avoid. Very unprofessional, and totally disrespectful. Put everything else we were willing to pay for back and decided to leave without a pet. Instead of making some money and providing good customer service they didnt get any money at all from us. We'll buy a pet elsewhere now and won't spend a single penny in this store out of principle.

We have always had a wonderful customer service. Yesterday was Above & Beyond. Not only did the groom room take time to try and help, remove a really painful, set of knots my little dogs ears caused by the rain to tighten his curls, within hours of calling them. The wonderful lady serving at the counter, took us around the shop to show us all the products and remedies to help with an allergic reaction to grass on our other dogs paws. The store was quite busy, but still, they took the time in care to make sure our dogs got everything I needed for them. The customer service and care that the team have here is amazing. It’s not just a job for them, and we can’t thank them enough.
