First class service. Wonderfully decorated. Scrumptious food. Great value for money. Eric’s have pursued the grail of producing traditional fish and chips. To this end they fry in beer batter. However, rapeseed oil and gluten free options are available.

Hugely disappointing. While the portions were generous the fish and batter were under seasoned and lacked any flavour. The only good points were the chips and the service, the latter being very friendly and efficient considering how busy they were on the day.

Seems popular as it was busy, was really underwhelmed by the fish, mushy peas were great though! On the pricey side and really not worth the premium.

Best fish and chips you can get the area. Get that curry sauce in yo! Atmosphere not huge as there weren't many people in, a fault that shouldn't be their own!

Cycling past on a recent holiday we by chance called in.Ordered cod chips and curry sauceThe fish had crispy batter and the fish inside was cooked perfectly.The curry sauce was fine and different in a good way it was a ordering system like a fast food restaurant, but you do have the option of sitting inside all the staff I encountered were friendly and attentive.

We visited Eric’s for fish and chips after the restaurant was recommended to us. The place is situated near an orchard and the area has several other shops (a garden emporium and antiques/ gifts, etc), which makes it a pleasant afternoon out.We were really pleased with the meal and enjoyed it very much. It is also reasonably priced - especially considering current inflation prices. Staff were really friendly and all worked with a welcoming smile.However, it was a little chilly inside (we visited in February), but maybe it warms up later into the evening (we visited at 5pm).

Normally a great treat for us. But this visit simply awful. Decided to eat in. Took 15 minutes for someone to take our order and only after we asked for it to be taken. Young lad in front of house clearly not trained. Other FOh girl not communicating with others. When our order was taken, served quickly. But my fish was cold and only partially cooked. I returned it and it was replaced without question. I thought they were short staffed but the young waiter told me no. They were just exceptionally busy. I’ve seen the place many times far more busier and better managed. £32.90 for 2 medium vid and chips and 2 bottles of water. Eric has had its chips with us. !

Excellent fish and chips. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The stools are a little uncomfortable after a while. However, the place was clean and tidy. Eat in and takeaway are available. I had the fried jam sandwich for dessert which is like a donut. I wouldn't it again.Overall a good price.
