We contacted Iain from Architectural Plans Ltd to help us with a building warrant application for some minor alteration works we wanted to carry out to our house. Having no idea what the process involved, Iain talked us through it in detail step by step, before we’d even formally asked him to carry out the work. This was really appreciated in getting us up to speed on what was involved, and ultimately putting our minds at ease. Iain then completed a prompt survey of the home and prepared the first set of drawings for us. We ended up having a few communications back and forth as we changed our minds a couple of times, which Iain was always happy to accommodate, offering his advice and carrying out any updates promptly. We appreciated the regular communications throughout the process, both before and after the warrant application was submitted, always keeping us in the loop with what was going on. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Iain to others, and would be very happy to use him again ourselves in future.

Like many other people we were trying to find an architect for our extension.We we’re recommended Iain from Architectural Plans by a friend who had recently used him.We had a fairly good idea what we wanted and with Iain’s input he changed a few things around and we are very happy with the end result.We wanted a rear and partial side extension and a roofline which would not obscure our back bedroom window and would have as little impact on our neighbours as possible.The result is we have a great extra living space with a good size shower room and utility room.Iain took full advantage of the extra ceiling height in all rooms and we now have a combed ceiling in our living space with French doors making it a fantastic extra living space.We would definitely recommend Iain.

So happy that we decided to work with Iain Penman for our extension, he listened to what we needed/wanted to achieve from the extension and came up with the perfect plans for us, giving us a large kitchen with dining area etc, large utility room with area for grooming our dogs which was very important for us and a workshop/garage. We wanted to build a front porch extension with a downstairs toilet and a side extension to double the size of our galley style kitchen, and Iain Penman was highly recommended to us by a number of friends who had used him. From the start of the design process until the completion certificate, Iain was incredibly professional, reliable and creative. A number of the builders we sought quotes from specifically commented on the quality of his drawings. The spaces he has created for us have transformed our house and we are delighted with the end result. Indeed many people have knocked our door to ask for details of the architect. We cannot praise Iain highly enough and would thoroughly recommend.

Architectural Plans did a great job of assessing our intended two story home extension, offering creative and interesting options, agreeing a final plan, producing these plans and acquiring the necessary planning permission and building warrants. Iain Penman was always approachable and helpful and provided excellent plans (appreciated by the builders) and very good advice. We're very happy with the outcome and feel that the service was good value for money.

I usually don't take the time to fill in reviews, everybody wants one. However in this instance in recognition of the excellent service and swift turnaround of the service we received, i actually offered to do this.Iain's service from the initial home visit throe to first draft plan was excellent. His advice was clear and concise. His knowledge and project experience is broad.He offered suggestions , we had not considered and helped shape our project, which was a kitchen\utility/downstairs bathroom and shower room.Iain was always available for questions and even our builder was impressed with the level of detail and straightforward layout of the final plans.I have no hesitation in recommending this company to anyone -whatever the size of your project ,large or small.

Iain provided an exceptional service throughout our double storey extension project and made the whole process really easy for us. Iain from Architectural Plans, couldn't have been more helpful to us. We are getting a single storey kitchen extension with separate bathroom and utility room.We have never had any kind of building work done before, so we really didn't know how to go about it. Iain explained everything really well to us, and in words we could understand. Wouldn't have known where to start with any of our plans but Iain Penman came recommended to us by our builder and so glad he did. He understood exactly what we wanted to achieve with our garage conversion and completed all of the necessary paperwork and association with the council planning department, quickly completing everything and getting all of the necessary information to our builder. Iain understood I had no concept of any of this and spoke in layman terms so I understood everything along the way.
