Newcastle Goju-Ryu Karate Academy
I have been training at this karate club for 11 years now and it’s been one of the best things to help me with my confidence, social skills and many more things. Sensei Aaron is a brilliant instructor and teaches more than just karate, he teaches discipline and great life skills. I would 100% recommend this club to any ages.

Newcastle Goju-Ryu Karate Academy
Sensei Aaron sees each child as an individual. As such he guides and nurtures them, both their strengths and weaknesses. As a former military instructor I am very impressed by Aaron's teaching, attitude and dedication, all the things one so often wishes for in a role model but so often doesn't get. His assistant instructors are a credit to him and themselves. The whole ethos is excellent and I highly recommend this Academy.

Sensei Aaron's experience and knowledge shows when teaching. He gives a perfect balance of enjoyment and discipline in class which is rare in other dojos. There is a strong sense of family, belonging and loyalty among members which is lovely to see. Congratulations on everything you have achieved so far with the club, Aaron. Oss!

As a member of almost 10 years, I can’t recommend this karate club enough. Good fun with serious training that combines all aspects of martial arts. Sensei Aaron is so dedicated to his own karate journey as well as the growth and achievements of each and every student, and it shows in the way he shares all that he’s learned. He is kind, patient, encouraging, and motivational. Kids learn karate fundamentals on top of developing good manners and a positive attitude towards discipline, work ethic, and relationships. Teens and adults from beginners to seasoned martial artists train together and continuously enhance their skills, with some having trained with the club for over 15 years. The dojo has a lot of heart, and members feel that they’re part of a family, which is a testament to the connection and strong sense of community Sensei Aaron has garnered. One of the best things I’ve ever been a part of.

Best karate in the North East and best instructor around. Our son has only been going just a month or so and he is so dedicated already, partly down to his love of martial arts but also due to the fact Sensei is so welcoming and is a great role model of commitment and dedication.

Kids learn about respect, discipline, self control and helping each other. Sensei Aaron strikes the right balance between commitment and fun, between learning and playing. My son has benefited enormously from this intelligent approach and he just loves karate. Community building is also fostered through outside classroom activities (such as karate on the beach) and kids gradually become more independent, resilient and respectful.

I have been a student at Newcastle goju for around 7 years and I've had the chance to meet new friends and train with lots of different people from different backgrounds. This club has helped me with my fitness, discipline, concentration and of course has helped me boost my confidence and its a fun place for all ages. Especially during this lockdown, Sensei Aaron has gone above and beyond by providing online classes, YouTube Videos and weekly social media challenges so we can all stay connected and train during this crisis.

I recommend anyone this dojo because Sensei Aaron is a great teacher that takes you out of your comfort zone and has a great team that can help anyone progress very rapidly. He'll also help to quickly improve your fitness and wellbeing as Aaron likes to incorporates high intensity cardio in his sessions and works on your flexibility, balance, power and awareness. Aaron has a complete arsenal of knowledge on self defence (not just karate) with which he constantly shares his new ideas to his students for them to practise.

My little boy, 6, has been coming to the class for a couple of months now and he absolutely loves it!Aaron is a brilliant instructor and role model for all of the children, and the respect he commands in the dojo is impressive. He has a dedicated team who are always on hand to offer advice and guidance to the students. The classes are so much fun, we always leave smiling!I would recommend this class to anyone!

Kids have joined this club for nearly five years and although the number of members is getting much higher but they still enjoy going there and learn more about Karate. Membership fees are reasonable especially if more people from the same family join the club.
