Great service, really professional and a tidy, well presented store. We were the only people in there at the time of visiting for school shoes and we were served by Claire who was knowledgable, helpful and great with by son. A total pleasure!

Was served by a lovely helpful lady called Alison earlier on today she was extremely helpful and patient with my daughter I just don’t know why people have been giving her bad reviews it’s like the parents have been blaming her for their wild out of control children!!

Absolutely appalled by the customer service here. Unbelievably rude.I came in to get my one year olds shoe fitting and she was quite upset, crying hysterically and finding it very uncomfortable.Instead of making this process easier or even being understanding of the situation, the woman ‘helping’ us kept on repeating….‘Stop being silly’ and ‘You’re just being silly now’ while her foot was being measured.I left feeling horrified that this was the treatment my daughter and I received.Totally unacceptable.

So, my shoes broke so I had to buy some urgently. I checked google and saw that Clarks in Rayleigh was open until 5.30 so I rushed there. I got in at 5, at by 5.20 I was done! They were super effective, understood exactly what I needed/wanted! Absolutely amazing service, effective and super friendly! I will come back for sure!!

I took my granddaughter into the shop today to get her feet measured. I was shown a selection of shoes in her size to try on and chose the pair that we liked and ones that the assistant felt fitted her foot best.

I’ve waited a long time for my son to start walking, it’s been a concern of mine he hasn’t until now and he’s under physio at the lighthouse centre. He started walking yesterday at 20 months old and I was so excited to come in and get his first shoes! He’s my last child and even so it’s such an exciting time for Mums and emotional. I came with my Mum and we looked at shoes. The lady who served us (short hair) was lovely and helpful and measured his feet and gave advice on the type of shoe she felt he needed. Very happy with the service she gave. Another lady then came out the stockroom (long blonde hair, assuming was the manager) and took over (not sure why) and when I said I didn’t really like the shoes they had in stock and that I liked the dinosaur first walkers she said ‘they don’t make them any bigger than a size 5 as he’s so late in getting shoes (being older) you can only pick from 2 pairs’I bought one of those 2 pairs as there was no choice in the matter. We paid and left. This lady asked me to do a review and I said I would as I know how much reviews mean, I’m a woman of my word.We went to another shop & my Mum said surely if they sell ‘some first walker shoes’ in a 5 1/2 they would sell that size in the shoe I wanted. Thinking about it she wasn’t wrong so I checked online. This lady wasn’t telling the truth and said they don’t make them in that size (having just ‘checked’ on her tablet so wasn’t a memory mistake)My Mum could tell I wasn’t happy with the shoes so we went back in. As a person I really struggle with people that go about life blatantly not telling the truth, especially when this lady knew how much this meant to me being his first shoes, trying to get the right picture and the wait we had to get him walking etc.We went in and the first lady who served us came over and we explained why we were back and we asked for a refund. Immediately she went to help and didn’t question what I said (perhaps she knew her colleague/manager had lied) and was quick to order the right size and refund me. I explained I just wanted a refund and I’d order at home.The lady who told us they didn’t make them in that size suddenly stood up and came over (when her colleague was checking I was right) and said ‘oh it must be my tablet playing up, it’s happened before’ we all know clarks website or any website is the same regardless of what device you use! If it said when I looked that they make the shoe in that size it would also have said that on her tablet. She just wanted the sale!I don’t know whether she would have got that sale and that’s why she took over & put it through (and didn’t leave her helpful colleague who did all the work to do it).If she had told me the truth from the beginning I would have ordered the dinosaur shoes for my son and gone back in this coming week to collect and she would have got her sale. I’ve lived part of my life in Rayleigh & myself and my siblings have always used Clarks (a lovelyLady with brown curly hair always served us amazingly, such a lovely lady) & so it meant a lot to me to use this store. We would have ordered any shoes going forward for both my children here.Because of this dishonest situation I will be using Clarks but at another store where hopefully when I go in I’m met with an honest person. It really upset me and ruined what should have been an enjoyable & memorable experience.I reiterate the first lady who served me was very helpful indeed (short hair and glasses) and I cannot fault her professionalism.

Yesterday I had a most pleasant experience, buying school shoes can be a nightmare, but yesterday with the help of Aaron at Clark’s of Rayleigh High Street, it was fun.I have actually used this shop since my own children went to school, they are now in their 50’sI’ve taken five grandchildren to this shop, and, two great grandchildren, the service snd the quality has always been excellent.Aaron was very good with our year old, then the two year old felt she needed a pair, with great patience Aaron led her to a pair of shoes, no she wanted sandals. So she wandered off picked out two pairs, he helped her decide what was best for her.Then came the time to measure, this was difficult as she kept curling her toes, eventually with some clever thinking on Aaron’s part the job was done. And we walked out with two very happy little girls.All in all in this lovely store staffed with lovely people a painful experience was anything but. It was fun for the children snd helped us smile when making the payment.There really is no better place to get your shoes from than Clark’s Rayleigh High Street.

We had a brilliant experience a few weeks ago, getting our daughter's first pair of shoes in Clarks Rayleigh. Debbie served us and was so kind to our daughter - spending time to make sure she wasn't scared to have her feet measured for the first time, then helping to guide us on the best style of shoes for her (wobbly walker at the time). She also gave us plenty of advice on how long shoes will last at this age so we can keep her in well fitted shoes as she learns to walk independently. Thanks Debbie for your time, patience and knowledge!

It’s 6th Sep 23, temperature is 30C and the aircon is on with the doors wide open. We are in an energy crisys - act responsibly! Maybe then your shoes wouldn’t cost so much!
