I would definitely recommend Jo. I needed advice on how to manage a great but overcrowded garden; Jo spent a long time looking at all the shrubs and trees, advising on how and when to prune them & suggesting which ones could be replaced with something else that would provide more colour. She then followed this up with a detailed report and links to suppliers of the plants we had discussed.

Jo has done a fantastic job taking care of our gardens for a number of years, she has really good knowledge of plants, garden design & maintenance. Jo has designed & planted beds, replaced plants with more appropriate ones in others and made sure that shrubs are pruned at the right times (whereas I would no doubt have killed them). I'd recommend Jo without hesitation.

My sad looking front garden is now Blooming!! Having no knowledge of where plants thrive I had already wrongly planted some in either too much sun or shade. I contacted Jo and was happy with her response which was what I wanted without trying to influence me against what I wanted rather she just guided and offered her advice. The work is completed as I had expected. No issues at all Jo has done a fabulous job and we are very pleased with the result and service. We would thoroughly recommend Jo Newton Garden Design & Consultancy. Jo came during some awful weather last year to measure up and really listened to what we wanted. She designed a beautiful cottage garden and her recommended plants came with information about how they would grow and where we could buy them from. Following work by a landscape company, we had the pleasure of sourcing and planting up the garden. Jo had encouraged me to save many of the plants from the old garden before it was cleared so we had many of our original plants to plant back in, giving a feeling of continuity and saving on the cost. I was quick to book Jo for a garden consultation. My situation was that I wanted to understand my garden more and to be able to do things myself to really make the most of the space and plants. I was totally clueless and had loads of questions/concerns, so a consultation was exactly what I needed. I'd never seen this kind of service offered before, and it sounded perfect. I wasn't interested in having someone come to measure up for decking or paving and show me samples - I needed someone to come and talk to me about the natural aspects of my garden. Jo's initial advice meant we could actually start getting stuck in straight away (we even did a few things under her kind supervision whilst she was still with us). The icing on the cake is that a week later, we had a full report containing links, resources, ideas and guidance so that we could work through it step by step and at our own pace. We've slowly but surely been implementing everything (easier than we actually thought), and it's really making a positive difference to our garden. Jo's honestly turned things around for us - and educated and inspired us along the way! She doesn't just understand your garden - she gets to know your lifestyle, too, and that makes all the difference in what she tailors for your report.
