I’ve been having lessons with Isabel for about a year and I couldn’t imagine learning with anybody else. She’s a brilliant teacher that organises the material in a way that is easy to follow, in a friendly, no pressure environment. She will take each lesson at your pace and is very supportive in arranging the lessons to fit around your work/personal life. This is particularly perfect for anyone like myself who is not a 9-5 worker.Could not recommend more.

Isabel is a wonderful tutor. Isabel started working with our son at a time when he was really struggling with German prior to his GCSEs. At that time he was scoring a 4 in his mock German exam. Isabel was kind and patient at all times. Her approach to teaching a language is so much better than what he was experiencing in school as she took him back to basics before building him up to where he needed to be. This, together with her excellent teaching instilled confidence in him that wasn’t present before and led to him achieving a comfortable 7 in his GCSE German in 2023. The tuition was very flexible and via Skype so it meant we could fit it easily into his busy schedule. We would not hesitate in recommending her to anyone who would like support with their German.

I have been learning German on and off for a few years now and the lessons with Isabel are by far the best I have had! The way that the learning is structured, you can make a lot of progress quickly, which has been much more motivating than my previous experiences.Isabel has so many materials that she has created, and knowledge of additional resources, to help with the lessons and also allow you to do plenty of work in your own time.I feel much more confident in my German now than I did before we started my first block of 10 hours. For now I have been learning just to improve, but in the future I will look to do the B2 level with Isabel’s guidance.Face to face and online classes both work well which means timings are flexible also. I would 100% recommend!

I had lessons from Isabel for around 6 months with help before my German A level exam. Before I received support from her I was really struggling to get above a C and after her help I have just received an A grade and am now off to Cambridge University. Isabel was a really enthusiastic teacher and was really encouraging in lessons which helped raise my confidence in my German ability. She also made sure that any grammar I was struggling with was worked on till I was fully confident. For example before I came to her I was really confused about German cases but after only a few lessons I felt really confident in them and it showed in my school work. You can really tell that she cares about each of her students and wants the best for them and that showed in the way she made herself available for me the evening before an A level exam if I needed to go over something last minute. I can’t recommend Isabel enough she is an amazing tutor and thanks to her I managed to get the German grade I was hoping for and also gained more overall confidence in my German. I started taking German lessons with Isabel in September 2021. At the time, I was looking for some extra tutoring to help boost my confidence in my German. In addition, I was also looking for extra help to achieve a 2.1 in my German degree. Thanks to Isabel's excellent tutoring, I was able to achieve both of these goals. To this day, I am extremely happy that I chose Isabel as a German tutor.Isabel is an extremely friendly and likeable individual, who is very kind and committed to her students. So much so, that she has created two extra clubs for her students. The first of which is Sunday group chat for her A2 students. This chat allows students to meet up virtually and discuss a range of subjects. The chat is a German conversation between Isabel and her students. This group chat is usually very relaxed and informal and gives students the chance to practice their German. During this conversation, Isabel will give a few corrections and notes down useful vocabulary for student's reference.The second chat is a book club for advanced students, however, all students are welcomed warmly. The book that is read by students is usually chosen by the group. So far, we have read the book Der Nasse Fisch, which is the novel adaptation of the book Babelon Berlin. We are currently reading the book Miss Merkel together.These extra clubs are just one of the many ways that Isabel goes out of her way for her students.Isabel has proved to be extremely reliable and very well organized over the time that I have known her. She has always been very understanding and accommodating to any changes to my schedule.In terms of resources, Isabel has created her own content for her classes. The resource that is most often used is a Mind Map application, along with a very specific selection of books and original printable resources.Isabel has taken many hours to upload German vocabulary and grammar to this application. This is an example of Isabel's very creative and interactive teaching style, as the app breaks down German grammar and vocabulary, whilst maintaining an interactive and fun approach.However, for those who wish to go above and beyond, you are always able to add your own vocabulary/sentences or stories to the app, which can be corrected by Isabel during lesson time.I found this extremely useful, because I learnt about how to form complex and interesting German sentences that focus on a variety of grammatical structures simultaneously.Thanks to Isabel's instruction, I have gained great confidence in my German ability. So much so, that I was able to achieve excellent marks in my German University examinations. I achieved a 2.1 in all of my written and spoken modules as well as translation examinations.As a result of Isabel's teaching and constant support, I was able to secure employment in a German speaking role as an immigration coordinator for a legal firm that deals with immigration to Germany. I do not think that this would have been possible without Isabel's help.Regarding the process of learning online, I was initially a bit sceptical about receiving tuition in this format. However, I can say hand on heart that it was and still is, the most convenient method of learning a language. Despite the physical distance between Isabel and I, I can honestly say that I feel like I have gotten to know her very well using this method. In addition to this, I think this method of learning is very practical as it fits around my busy schedule.In terms of our lessons themselves, Isabel carefully adapts her lessons to my personal interests and language goals whilst keeping the lessons varied. I will continue to learn German with Isabel as I am so impressed with her lessons and teaching. I would definitely recommend her as a German tutor for any level.

Isabel and I have worked together for over 2 years, she is an outstanding and committed German teacher. The creative and varied learning resources she creates really support my learning while make herlessons great value for money. We started lessons in person before moving online during the pandemic. Isabel successfully moved her teaching online with a lot of new resources. I've been so pleased with how well that move has gone as well as the greater flexibility it gives with when and where to have lessons. I would thoroughly recommend Isabel as a German teacher.

Isabel has helped me last year to improve my German skills while in groups, individually and via Skype. The three methods are incredibly effective and results oriented.
