Great adult coaching. Really good level for beginners, the coaches were really patient and constructive

Come and join us… I have been a member of this great club for a few years now. It is very friendly and will always try to make every person, young and old, feel at home. Besides the tennis on 4 nice all weather courts (one with flood lights) there is a club house where, if worn out from tennis, people can relax, sit down, have a drink and chat to others. It's great.

I’ve been a member for a few years now, and find everyone extremely welcoming. The age ranges from young teens to over 70. The standard is equally diverse from beginner to brilliant. The social doubles is really nice, and I’ve met a great group of singles players to arrange games with, both during lunch breaks and evenings. The coaching is superb too, and my game has really improved as a result.

I've been a member of several tennis clubs and Henleaze is the friendliest, most welcoming club I've joined. There are club sessions to suit all standards of play and an excellent coaching program. The club enters teams in the local leagues so it is possible to play a high standard of tennis all year round.In addition, there are several social events throughout the year where you can mix and meet with other members.

I joined the club about a year ago and was happy to find its members to be very welcoming and friendly. Since then I have participated in its regular, well organised club sessions as well as taking advantage of its excellent, extensive coaching programme, to improve my doubles strategy skills and singles playing skills. I have also enjoyed playing in well organised doubles, mixed doubles and social tournaments, which run during the year. And I will be playing in the individual tournament, which starts imminently. All told, I made a good decision to move from my old club to this club.

A very friendly club with lots of opportunity to play socially: daytime, evenings and weekends. All standards are catered for with various coaching sessions to improve skills and League play for those enjoying more competition.

Not just a great club for all standards, Will Hardiman is a top quality coach and the juniors and adults in his coaching groups make excellent progress -as well as having fun.Friendly people, lots of different groups, competitive league teams, coaching for all ages, good social play. Open to new members.

I joined Henleaze after the first Lockdown and this was one of the best (Tennis) decisions I made. I was welcomed into the club by everyone who I met straight away and was directed to the relevant players to compete against to match my ability and the relevant league captains who put me in the relevant team to challenge me. The club sessions and the tournaments provided me with the ability to meet other members.Since COVID-19, the club has seen a huge growth in opportunities for young adults and club regulars (through the amazing coaching programme for all ages and abilities). Additionally, there has been a rise in singles opportunities, through the singles ladder, and opportunities for competition (through the club championship draws) whilst maintaining the social aspect of the club (club tournaments and BBQ etc).In comparison to the other clubs that I have been a member of and have played at, I think Henleaze is welcoming whilst providing me with the competitive and social tennis that I seek.

Things changed over the years I attended this club, sadly in a negative direction. There has been a recent exodus of good young players therefore the club now is generally made up of mediocre older players. The committee has an outdated outlook which reflects poorly on this club. They are very intolerant with respect to diversity of views. If you are looking for a good standard of play and want to mix with younger players I would not recommend this club to you. There are plenty of other better clubs near by that can offer a much higher standard of play and have a much friendlier atmosphere.

I'm a big fan of Henleaze Tennis club. I have been having group tennis lessons there for about 18 months and they have become the highlight of my week. After a 12 year break from tennis, I have enjoyed getting back into it. I would highly recommend Will as a tennis teacher - my game has improved and the lessons are fun! My three daughters (5, 8 and 10 years) also have lessons at the club, and have been taught by Will and Heather. Both are excellent. More recently I've started playing some club tennis - a bit daunting the first time as it had been so long since I played doubles, but the members were kind and welcoming.
