Why do people go to the tip when St Cecilia's finish at 3.05pm??? Makes Chapel Hill unpassable!!

Fab recycling and waste handling centre. The staff are brilliant. Just got to treat them with respect and get to know them. Chris, Johnny and the lads could not be more helpful - never any problems, they are always happy to help - no matter what the weather !

Site decent, but staff not helpful, just stand about talking while people are clearly struggling up and down the stairs, have had to ask for help last couple of times, which in fairness I did get but got the feeling they weren't happy to help.

Booked an appointment because I have a pickup. Not sure if I needed to but its better to be safe than sorry. As it happened nobody seemed bothered that I'd turned up so I guess I didn't need to. I generally like going to longridge because of its convenience but was a bit miffed that they had no yard brushes to clean up afterwards. They normally have them leaning against the tips.

My wife went on a Monday to find it closed. Fair enough. We then arrived on a Thursday with one ladder, and the bottom of a lawn mower in our trailer as we didn’t want to put them in our Land Rover. The yard was closed as they were shunting stuff around - fair enough. We were first in a queue of 4. The bloke came and told us we had no appointment and that we had to book online. We had to give 3 days notice. I asked if we could walk it in - no. He had one of those annoying smirks on his face. I asked him that since we weren’t a van could I transfer the items into the land river and disconnect the trailer. He reluctantly said yes and I did so. We completed the task in 10 minutes. I suppose the only saving grace about his sad power moment is the knowledge he will probably be working in that tip for the rest of his days.

Really great staff ; site very clean and tidy - helpful with difficult items.Much needed facility that is very well managed.
