The Plough
This place was nice enough - the food was good and the interiors / general atmosphere is relaxed and pleasant. Just a word to the wise on ordering drinks - we ordered 2 orange and lemonades (usually a cheap drink) and they were charged at £6.75 each! The staff advised they charged individually for both the orange juice and the lemonade but I’ve never heard of this elsewhere and I feel that this should have been advised when we ordered. If I’d known I would’ve had a glass of wine instead - it would’ve cost less!

We visited last year while on holiday in the area and it was so lovely we had to come back this year! Food and service were still just as amazing. Our food came out quickly and was delicious. We felt very relaxed and not rushed. Our 2 dogs were very welcomed and looked after. We will definitely be back and recommend if you are in the area.

Simply superb food. Notably excellent variety of local rum too!Nice to know all ingredients sourced locally. Well worth a visit and highly recommended.

We love this place. We visited last summer and twice in the last week. Food is amazing, so yummy and looks great. Mark takes great pride in his work, even helping our daughter with a curry decision! Mel is so friendly and really helpful with accommodating the needs of our group. It felt like we were returning friends, not customers. Looking forwards to returning next year.

First impressions count!Being fully booked on an out of season Thursday evening is usually a good sign. The service was swift - but not rushed, our waitress had good knowledge of the wines being offered and also let us know what the daily specials were. Our food order was taken promptly after our drinks arrived. After a short wait, our food arrived - all freshly prepared and cooked by the chef, a real credit to this establishment. You can always tell when someone takes pride in what they do and the food here was excellent! The dishes were clean, and the plating was obviously done with care, each meal looked well presented without looking pretentious.Desserts were just as good as our mains, all homemade, tasty and beautifully presented.Overall, an excellent experience.I will definitely be returning again.

The Plough
Booked for an early Sunday lunch, we were made most welcome by the owners and all staff. The starters and Sunday roast were excellent, no space left for pudding! Extremely dod friendly and all staff knowledgeable, professional and polite. Reasonably priced, great value for money. Went to a supposedly superior restaurant the previous day twice as expensive and a quarter the Ploughs quality- can’t wait to return

Knew this pub before current owners bought it and has truly been transformed. Fresh fish based menu with a wide variety of non fish and vegetarian options too. Had bowl of massive juicy mussels and a really flavourful fish curry. Staff very friendly, great atmosphere while still maintaining the country pub feel. Lots of well behaved dogs. (Recommend letting them know if you’re bringing a dog when booking as they put them in certain areas.) highly recommend!

The Plough
Just returned from our evening at the Plough: interesting. Service was good, food generally was reasonable if over priced for the level of quality. The atmosphere was cosy, but we were sitting with a direct line of sight into the kitchen: mistake. I was distracted with kitchen staff repeatedly waving a floor mop in the air near the food prep area, as well as another one spraying cleaning liquid and rubbing with cleaning rags on the ceiling in the same area. I completely understand the need to keep your working kitchen as clean as possible, but the staff really should complete the work BEFORE to start prepping and serving, earlier in the day, and not in front of your paying customers.
