Lea Bridge Cycles

Interesting, unfussy cycle shop by Lea Bridge Station. Refreshing to find a more 'old fashioned' bike shop rather than a trendy one. They replaced my chain then and there with no appointment necessary. The staff member was perfectly friendly but was not a people person so there is no friendly banter but you do not feel that you have to talk to fill the silence either. It is on cycle route C23 so should be useful for those that use that cycle path. Odd set up getting the bikes in to the shop, as you have to navigate a ramp which is slightly awkward as the store is so much lower than the pavement. It just felt comfortable in there rather than being judged which some cycle shops (subliminally) do.

The gents who work at Lea Bridge Cycles are very caring when it comes to their customers. Particularly Umer who practically forced me to sit down and made me a cup of tea whilst I thought over whether to get myself a new bike or not! As a novice cyclist I didn’t know what to go for, however I was given sound advice and nothing ever felt condescending given my lack of knowledge, and as a woman in a bike shop which as far as I can see is run solely by men. I was given a very fair deal in the end and great service as always :) thank you lads!

Finding a good bike shop is hard. I had high hopes for this one when it opened but unfortunately I won't be going back.I went in for a rear puncture and after speaking to a mechanic ended up going for their mid-priced service (c.£80). The work in general was fine hence the 2 stars.However, the first time I rode it I got a flat on the same tyre, so I went back to see if they could re-do it, ideally free (but open to compromise) as they clearly didnt check the tyre for sharps properly and for £80 I expect better.This time I got someone more senior and I've never had a customer experience so bad. There was no attempt to find a compromise and when I disagreed he became more agressive and when I questioned his customer service and said I'd leave a negative review then he shouted at me that I was barred from the shop.Perhaps I got him on a bad day?! A shame really as I have 3 bikes that I regularly service and am part of a cycling group who I will be actively telling to swerve this place.

Great local bike shop with fast friendly and fair price on bike repair.Had spokes and wheel alignment done.Fully recommended+

Had a lovely experience today buying a new bike. Umer was very generous with his time and talked me through lots of different bikes. Cycling away happy.

The shop did an excellent service on my front tyre. There was an issue with the back tyre, and they went to great lengths to investigate what the issue was, replacing the tyre again for no additional cost. I am grateful for the efforts put in to fix the problem. Knowing this, I'd happily use them again.

I’ve been delighted with the service and customer care at this bike shop both times I’ve used them.On both occasions I’ve been welcomed, my bike issue has been diagnosed immediately and worked on as soon as they could manage - really appreciated. The work is fairly-priced as well.

I entered the shop one Sunday with the intention of quietly sussing out bikes but not to buy on the day. Then I saw Juliette (pictured) and stopped in my tracks.I am a new and extremely nervous cyclist. Professional cycling environments / shops can be intimidating but i felt at home in this place immediately, in large part because of the staff.Umer is a diamond. Warm, helpful, honest, professional and made us all feel at home. He respected my budget, didn't try to upsell me, was honest about models that had been returned by other customers and transparent about the process.While my new bike was being serviced, he made my friends and cups of tea and answered all the questions of my (more knowledgeable) friend.I've been back again since, and had the same excellent level of service. I doubt I will go anywhere else.I feel safe, included, and welcome in Lea Bridge Cycles and more importantly, I trust that they will do their very best to help me with my cycling needs.I hope this place stays in business for a long time. They are lovely people and a great addition to the neighbourhood.

I had a puncture yesterday in the middle of the pouring rain and i arrived freezing cold where this amazing shop gave me all I needed;);) the lovely ‘bike whisperer’ recommended me new tires to be safer and he promised i will feel the difference if i upgrade. And guess what? I do!!! It only took 20 mins. Amazing customer service and super kind people. Thank youuuu, agnes

I hate cycle shops because I have encountered the most idiotic and egotistic staff, but thank God for Lea Bridge cycles that changed my experience when in need of cycle repairs and advice. These guys are really honest and down to earth and you feel you can trust their services. I have taken my bike here for regular maintenance and emergency repairs and always came out very happy. It is a nice spacious place, easy to get to, good vibe, knowledgeable staff and affordable prices. Totally recommended!
