Lovely building with pleasant staff. I appreciate it's a student union coffee shop, but there was no pride in the place. Dirty tables, bland coffee and tasteless, dry cookies.

Nice location and friendly staff, but their coffee was not to my liking. There are so many local roasters nowadays who could help improving freshness and quality for coffee lovers.

Really great space & decent wifi — otherwise ordinary tea-bag tea, cakes, & pop music would ordinarily be 3*. They do have soy milk.

Old Union Coffee Shop
On a visit to St Andrews, my husband and I stopped in for a cup of coffee. It was clean and tidy and you weren't paying through the nose for your coffees. It was reasonably busy and there was a good choice of cakes. I would recommend going here to get your coffee rather than one of the normal chain shops.

After changing my grandson was complained at by a member of staff saying was unacceptable and they would have to close an entire area off.I wouldn’t come back if they paid me staff want some training

Fantastic staff, dog friendly and delicious food at a very good price. Soup of the day was a delicious potato and leek served with a massive slice of seeded brown bloomer and butter for £3, plus the coffee was very nice. We would definitely recommend the old union coffee shop.

Very small, very studenty. The coffee was pretty decent and not massively expensive and the food was pretty much the same. It is an old building and not really suitable for anyone who needs walking aids or a wheelchair. On both occasions when I was there, there were students working and it had a relaxed atmosphere, which was nice but it did mean that there was not a great turnover in tables.
