Overall was all good, and the actual travel experience in the ferry is pretty pleasant and seamless. The staff is incredibly helpful, and they went the extra mile in order to help us. However, I give 4 and not 5 star due to an unannounced destination change on the trip to Islay: our ferry was supposed to go to Port Ellen but arrived, for some reason that still have not been explained, to Port Askaig, on the opposite side of the island.

Fast and reliable ferry service to/from Kennacraig. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our motorbikes were securely fastened on board by the staff. The MV Finlaggan is a modern and comfortable ferry with good on-board service. The prices for food, drinks and souvenirs were perfectly acceptable, just as the rate for the trip to Islay with our motorbikes. The waiting area is a bit small, but acceptable. If you want to take the ferry to/from Islay, it is highly recommendable to book tickets online in advance! We booked a ticket for the last ferry at 8PM and came to Port Ellen at around 9:30AM. We were put on the waiting list and were able to leave with the ferry at 10AM - thanks to Calmac for helping us out!

A bit expensive / but is the only way to get to islay by car. You can also change the ferry free of charge (great plus!) Otherwise a normal ferry ...

Used them quite a bit to travel around the Hebridean islands. Cancellations are out of their hands. As they can't control the weather. Friendly staff.
